Fantastic location for an overnight stay before the ferry to Orkney.Welcoming, friendly staff who looked after us superbly. Food is nothing exotic, but good quality, well cooked meals, generously portioned as well.Atmosphere was quiet on a Sunday evening, but that suited us perfectly.Thankyou to all the staff.

We stayed here for two nights and it was great. The rooms were super comfy and the atmosphere was great. Free breakfast and dinner options. The dinner wasn't the best as the fish didn't seem to fresh but the pizza cheese stringy mess was straight out of an advert. Very comfortable beds, great tv and good shower pressure. The only two complaints I have are there was no soap to wash you hand and the lock on the door didn't seem to secure as there were keys hanging off it when we arrived. The staff were great and breakfast was too. My only complaint there wasn't to much on the menu for breakfast but it was great. The surrounding place has great walks and views over the surrounding place and has good acces to the coast. The overall experience was good and I would go back here again.Rooms: We stayed in the twin room and it was great. When all the lights were out it was pitch black and plenty of charger sockets. The bathroom was very good and the shower was great pressure. There was no hand soap though which is a downside. The beds were very comfy but the radiator made the room either too cold or warm. The TV was very nice and the whole atmosphere was great.Nearby activities: There are plenty of good walks, shops, sight seeing places and great acces to the sea. The two days we were here it was a great rest place with the pier, cliff walk and plenty of shops near by. The whole community felt great and there are routes to wick, John 'o' groats or Orkney

I attended The Weigh Inn at the start of February 2024 for a 3 day pool competition.The hotel was tremendous, the food was good and the staff were outstanding.I will definitely be coming back, and I've recommended others do so, too.

Stopped by fir a bite to eat and although it was only a very limited Boxing Day menu it didnt disappoint. Price is very reasonable as well ?

Stayed here on 13th December, and I cant fault it one bit, we had a large room with a lovely sea view, very clean all staff were super friendly and amazing, and the chef omg wowww, we had fish and posh chips, the best we have ever had, I'd highly recommend this hotel and our bulldog Rosie was also made very welcome.?

We're staying at campsite and went along to eat and watch rugby. Met at door by 6 very drunk men at 7pm. There appeared to be a snooker match on and was more like a men's club than hotel. We had to ask staff at least 7 times if they could put TV. Eventually got a friendly competent member of staff. Food was reasonable. Would hate to have booked into hotel to stay.

Friendly staff, great breakfast, room was clean, needed a upgrade, was looking for a twin room, we ended up with a double bed and sofa outside,. Happy enough with that, apart from the very noisy lot until midnight.

Sign said serves food all day. Waited in various area for over 10 minutes without seeing any member of staff. Told second couple in car park not to bother going in.

Just want to say thanks for a great stay. Rooms, good. Food, great and staff excellent. A perfect location for our 3 day fishing trip and would definitely stay here again. Can't fault it. Just a wee message. Are you missing us and 1 out of 2 is not

I arrived in high season, without booking, seeking a late lunch. I received a warm welcome from a member of staff who was clearly working exceptionally hard but nevertheless accommodated my request for regular bread, not garlic bread, and took care to check whether I wanted my coffee before the food, with the starter or with the main. The tomato soup and the macaroni cheese were both very tasty, and if I?m in Thurso again the Weigh Inn will be my first choice for a meal.
