Excellent accommodation, great food, friendly attentive staff. The cheapest place we booked but was the best accommodation by far! Great location for town and beach. Free parking.Rooms: Well appointed rooms, impressively clean. On suite, fluffy towels, lovely complimentary shower gel and soap. Powerful rain head shower, plenty of hot water. TV and tea/coffee in room. No faults, highly recommended.Food & drinks: Great food and choice for evening meal. Went for the fish platter! Breakfast included in room price, decent food, NOT cheap nasty catering sausages!

Very good price (breakfast is included), big and nice room. Some people in the reviews complain about the pub downstairs but we were there on a Saturday night and had no problem (music till 10-11 or so)

Friendly staff, great rooms, lovely food and good location for the Train Station and Scrabster port. Great value too. The room was immaculate and with plenty of space. Great large shower as well. For those guests with cars great base for exploring the Highlands

Not a great place to stay. It started en route from Inverness to Thurso my husbands phone kept ringing when we stopped for a break it turned out the hotel had taken the money for our up coming stay but put wrong amount in adding an extra 0 making it in the thousands hence card company was blocking it as fraud. It took us an hour to sort out, all they had to do was wait for us to arrive to pay. The building is not very inspiring and does look bit like a hostel. We had booked dinner which again was not a pleasant experience took 15 mins to take any order for drinks even though not busy after another 15 mins after talking amongst themselves behind bar waitress came back stating what the wine we had ordered was not available so we choose another one, when this came it was so warm it was very unpleasant despite trying to cool it down with ice. Our food order was taken after 45 mins we asked where our food was, only to be told it had been forgotten , not sure who was at fault waitress or kitchen, had it not been too late to go elsewhere we would have left so had to wait another half an hour whilst they cooked the food. Needless to say we never ate there again and went out. Unfortunately this hotel is situated above a bar where all the youngsters congregate, not sure if it was true about all rooms but the music was very loud and it went on from 1630 till midnight. Not a pleasant place to stay.

We booked it being the last night of our trip, when we checked in we found the earliest they would do breakfast was 8am, and our ferry was leaving at 08.45am. We asked if we could have a refund on our breakfast (sorry no) we asked if we could have a reduction on an evening meal (sorry no). The room was lovely, but found them unaccomodating, which was a shame, wonder now who ate our breakfast. At least Northlink had breakfast waiting for us a soon as we got on the ferry. Don?t think we will stay again, perhaps you can see from our point of view, why not.Noteworthy details: The room was very clean and comfortable, even if it was at the top, bathroom also very clean

We stayed here on Saturday 6th August as we had booked The Captain's Galley for a seafood dinner. I read a lot of reviews before we booked the Inn at Ynot & there are a lot of comments about the rooms being above the pub & were susceptible to noise. However, we found the room to be spotlessly clean & bright with an excellent shower. Fair enough, we could hear the music from below when we bed to bed but if you book a room above a busy pub do not expect total silence! The staff here are first class, very friendly & attentive. The bar below our room The Grove served excellent Guinness & has a decent choice of whisky too. My other half enjoyed the choice of flavoured ciders. The locals in the bar are very friendly & we enjoyed our time spent in their company. Breakfast in the morning, though not included in the price was full & hearty though fairly expensive for the full Scottish. I would certainly recommend this establishment & if we were back in Thurso this is without doubt where we would stay.

After not being able to get food at a local hotel at 3.00pm we called in to this pub and found that they serve food all day from an extensive menu. Prices are reasonable and the young staff were helpful if not overly friendly. Maybe they had other things to do rather than make an effort. No measures were in place to facilitate social distancing and the menus looked as if they needed a good clean. However the food was good and we had no adverse reaction so the kitchen standard must have been okay. Would probably eat elsewhere if in Thurso again.

It does state that it's situated above a busy barHowever at 11.30 the music went on really loud.We were on the top floor and it still kept us awake .A big disappointmentAnd very selfish to the staying guests

I am not one to write reviews and although the food was very good the service was shocking! It was fairly speedy at the start. We hadn?t booked and were seated right away. Ordered quick and our drinks came quick. However food took a while to come. Then when we had finished we were left for a good half an hour with empty plates with all the staff looking over at us but not clearing our plates or offering dessert. Finally someone cleared our plates and brought the dessert menu over. He said he would be over to take our order in a couple minutes. We waited a good 15-20 minutes before anyone took our dessert order. Other customers that arrived after we finished our main meal were receiving dessert before we had even ordered ours. They aren?t even busy and the staff were just standing around the bar chatting. Highly unprofessional.
