Thoroughly enjoyed our off-season stay at Brander Lodge. David and his team have mastered the art of being available and attentive without being overbearing, and the welcome and service we recieved was warm, friendly and helpful. The room was incredibly clean and came with french doors out to a patio area which was both unexpected and a nice touch. Can imagine it would be great in summer! Both dinner and breakfast were tasty, substantial and comforting, although maybe a little limiting for vegetarians or vegans. We spotted deer right out front of the hotel on the first morning, which was really spectacular and gives you an idea of the remoteness of the location, and the quietude you can expect here. Looking forward to a return.

Had a two night stay at The Brander Lodge Hotel for a change when we had some family visiting from the minute we arrived to the minute we left we enjoyed everything. The food was delicious 4 out of 6 of us opted for the steak pie which I can say is one of the best steak pies I have ever tasted in my life. Compliments to the Chef.Breakfast time there was a fantastic buffet breakfast on offer with everything you could need to set you up for the day including lovely coffee and tea!The hotel in general is in a wonderful location and is a great place to stop for a meal or a night or a few nights stay.Loch Awe is right on the doorstep if you are interested in fishing and lots of mountains for those who love to do a bit of hiking!Highly Recommended.Thank you to Team Brander for a fantastic stay.God Bless.

We stayed here under very difficult circumstances due to closed roads and challenging weather causing the disruption people in the area had never witnessed before. The Manager and staff were amazing even though they had their own difficulties nothing was too much trouble! We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel services. The rooms were comfortable and clean but a little shabby.

The exterior of this hotel really let's it down, along with some interior issues. There's even a hole in the ceiling in the upstairs section. Our room was a small cozy room with cosmetic issues. There is also no sign to point out where reception is, so went to the bar to be told its at the side of the building. Went there to check in, no one there. I did call the number but went to a voicemail. They did call me back finally. On a positive note, the staff were all friendly and did best to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was nice and lots of variety. Had dinner night before, menu said beer battered fish, but we all agreed it was breaded, so didn't eat much of it. Shower in room was very powerful, which was a nice surprise. I feel our room price was overpriced given the small size of room and clearly our area needs refurbishment. The exterior to the left is also scruffy, which isn't a great sight on arrival. Such a shame. All of this is why I've given it a 2.

My wife booked this hotel last minute on the day we arrived. Hemma the receptionist who took our booking was very helpful. On arrival the exterior was disappointing, with storage containers to the front. The stairwell and its ceiling are in need of extensive renovation. However, the room was clean and comfortable with every necessary convenience and views of the woods. The grounds were beautiful leading down to a spectacular river beneath the high hills. Dinner was excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very enjoyable with a wide range of options. We recommend the hotel for visitors to Oban.

Lovely place, rooms are good and the food is delicious ? the location is great for some quiet time ?Rooms: The rooms are very adequate to your needs, Big huge bed ?clean & comfortable, ours had its own little patio area for sitting outside (room 3) bathroom has corner shower which was really good & powerful and roasty toasty ?Nearby activities: Only a small drive into Oban itself, lots to see & doFood & drinks: The food is fantastic ? 2 dining areas although the bar area is much nicer & got a right cosy feeling. Other area has an out look onto the gardens which are beautiful but not as cosy as the bar areaNoteworthy details: You can bring your dogs, they are made very welcome. Staff are very friendly and welcoming ?

Very disappointed with my choice of hotel. The kerb appeal for reception was run down and you had to walk through bags of dirty laundry before entering a dreadful stairwell. This had a hole in the ceiling a damaged fire escape door stained carpets and windows completely covered in cobwebs with two ripped chairs at the top of the stairs. The room was average but twice had to ask for clean towels. Reception was not always manned just a phone number for you to leave a message on the answer machine. Breakfast ranged from poor to average. Would not recommend this hotel and it was not cheap.

Not quite good enough. Young untrained staff paying little attention to the tables.Very little effort would have given us a good night.

This lodge is cozy, peaceful and surprisingly luxurious. The chefs meals were top notch and the staff were so helpful and accommodating. Our rooms were spotless and had everything you could need for a comfortable night away from home. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Had the misfortune of comming to this place for dinner, ordered the steak pie and can honestly say it was the worst I have ever had. The pie was full of overcooked vegetables and very little meat. Embarrassed for the chef, will not be back.

On arrival we were a bit dubious about our choice. No staff to be seen anywhere. Eventually told we couldn?t check in until 3, this was at 2.35. Once checked in, all was very good. Food in bistro was excellent. Breakfast had a good choice, and well cooked
