Only people in there, waiter took 30 mins to come to the table and the food took 2 hours. The food was also very average.

Popped in for an Indian meal on the way home. The food was very tasty and the service was good. We would visit again :)

Our food was closer to confectionary than dinner. We could hardly eat it. Our coconut rice was like it had been defrosted and then coated in sugar. Honestly never had worse Indian my life. Unfortunate as there aren?t many options in the area. Wish we tried out the Anchorage Bistro instead.

Avoid this place. I was in Tarbert for work and made the mistake of coming here before checking previous reviews. The menus outside suggest the establishment does standard pub grub as well as Indian, but it doesn?t - so the menus are presumably old and nobody has bothered to change them. Also worth noting that the restaurant is called the Marine Bistro - this is no bistro, it?s an Indian restaurant. The young waiter who greeted us as we arrived looked confused as to why we were there (to eat, obviously). We were seated and I asked for a jug of water for the table. We were instead given plastic bottled water and no glasses! Utterly bizarre, what decent self-respecting restaurant would do this? My curry was rubbish, I had a lamb curry and the sauce was tasteless. The only reason this is a two star review is because I was starving and finished my meal to fill a hole. The decor is fairly miserable. An American couple came in after us and looked equally bemused by the restaurant experience. This place is an embarrassment to Tarbert. Tourists come to Tarbert to enjoy what is a lovely little seaside village, not to have such a poor dining experience like this. Previous reviews suggest this is a recurring theme. Big changes required to fix this place.

Popped in for a quick takeaway on drive to Campbeltown and soon wished i hadn't. This place had a very strong smell of the aromas normally found in an Indian restaurant yet it's supposed to be a cafe/bistro. A roll on cheap square sausage with uncooked onions, and a scone which was probably a week old and as hard as concrete, and they had the cheek to charge £5, no wonder there wasn't a soul sitting at any of the tables !. If i could give a zero I would. Never again.

Visited on 20/8/23 & the food was terrible. What a shame as you should expect a lot better from a cafe/bistro situated on the harbour.

Very rude and rushed staff. Ordered the BLT, photo shows the result. Asked about the amount of material on the bread, answer was basically, that?s it. BEWARE!

Visited here for lunch in July. Husband was told his choice was unavailable so he went for 2nd choice of a chicken burger which arrived on a dry unbuttered roll with a mountain of barely cooked chips. I ordered scampi. Cut in to the scampi and it was mushy and very undercooked. Couldn't eat it but didn't send it back as I was too scared to eat anything from there. A table of 4 arrived before we left and we overheard them being told lots of the items were unavailable from the menu. The chiller wasn't on so their beer arrived warm. Tables were left uncleared and staff member disinterested. Please avoid, spend your money elsewhere!

The excessive amount of sugar in the coconut rice and chicken Korma was very unexpected. They both were gritty in texture and felt like they were afraid to let the coconut carry any of its own flavor by covering it with sweetness. My wife and I shared a single order of both and we were unable to finish because of the sugar overload. The naan bread was decent but they burned of the two we ordered and we didn?t finish that either. We possibly just ordered bad options because they seemed nice enough but they missed our expectations by far.

Really disappointing. Ordered a buttered Scone with jam as a takeaway. While it was made I used the loos. They needed a fresh lick of bright paint (walls were dark red) but at least didn't smell bad.Scone was waiting in a bag so I paid (£2.50)and left. Turned out the Scone was stale & dry with slight spots of mould on top. Two pats of butter and jam portion in bag! A DIY buttered scone! Didn't find out it was as bad til I was few miles up the road or I would've gone back.Couple were served their curry meal while I was waiting to be served. Sounded like half of their ordered food was wrong!I wouldn't eat from there again, waste of time & money for wrotten food.

Service slow and abrupt. Food very poor. Cans of pop warm from fridge. Staff looked massively disinterested. Avoid.

Scones served on a paper bag no plate or cutlery. Disgusting giving one star as it won?t let me submit with it

This has to be the worst Indian Cuisine I?ve ever tasted. The chicken Pakora starter was appalling. The batter engorged the slither of chicken in each piece. I had to actually use a plastic fork from the takeaway section for my main meal when it finally arrived. The French couple sat next to me gave up after waiting over one hour for their food. It was embarrassing. Don?t eat here !!! It?s appalling.
