The Google search of this place is completely misleading. This place is no longer a hotel or lodge. It has no restaurant or bar. Is few miles out of Tain. It'has 4 rooms being rented out. The rooms are very basic and small. The place is clean enough, the breakfast was rubbish. There is no reception. We had trouble getting into the place, communication wasn't great.

Lovely place, well furnished. Just a little loud as walls are thin and can hear the neighbours.

Great option in Tain. Heather and her staff are welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Plenty of info provided in advance and good dinner options and a hearty filling breakfast available. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was okay. Rooms are noisy and functional. Small beds (140cm for two). Dead place. There's certainly no sign of any "hotel stars" here.

We stayed at the Carnegie Hotel, on 2 separate occasions, and for 2 nights each time. Staying in a different room each time, both rooms were clean, tidy and the bed comfortable. Both shower rooms were good.Heather contacted us well in advance each time, with information on room and dining menu. You have to order your meals by 3 o'clock, from a very good selection. The food was excellent. You can order breakfast in the evening.Bar has a good selection of wines, beers & spirits.The hotel is located just off the A9 and on the Edge of Tain, which is within walking distanceWe had a lovely stay and recommend this hotel to all. Staff we all very helpful.

We were road tripping by motorbike with 7 friends, and Carnegie Lodge Hotel was our 5th stay. The rooms were good; enough space, clean, beds were good. No comments, a room how a room has to be. We had also dinner at Carnegie. And this was beyond our expectations!! We had several starters and main courses, and without exceptions, all was delicious and perfectly prepared. Very tasteful, well proportioned, great balanced. The breakfast the day after was of the same quality, a very good start of the day. And on top, the staff was really kind. They know what hospitality is. Thanks Shauna and Heather!!If you are looking for a place to stay in the area of Inverness/ Tain, don?t look further and book at the Carnegie Lodge Hotel!Rooms: A room how a room has to be.Food & drinks: Very very good!!!

What a wonderful stay we have just had at the Carnegie Lodge Hotel. There were 7 of us in 4 rooms which were all perfect. We had a meal on the first night which was excellent, very tasty and generous portions. The breakfasts were superb both days and we enjoyed a drink or two in their well stocked bar. Heather and Derek were fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much for such an enjoyable stay and I?m pretty sure we?ll be back.
