Called in whilst in the area in our motorhome, we asked if we could stay in their carpark amd order food. What a lovely friendly welcome, with no hesitation on saying yes to stay. Had a great chat with the owner Mike, tried a couple of different larger. The food was really lovely. Yes I would definitely recommend and return.

We greatly enjoyed supper here on a visit to the seaboard villages. Wonderful meal and great hospitality. The vegetarian felt as welcome as the venison-eater! Everything I hoped to experience in a Scottish pub!

Absolutely perfect evening celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Mike and the team couldn't have done any more. The food was superb, the service was amazing.

We stopped in by after a walk in the area, on the off chance they had a table. They did indeed have a table and the food was amazing. We had the Penang curry and chicken and leek casserole followed by two servings of the toffee fudge cheesecake. The food was fantastic and we can't praise it enough, hot fresh and tasty with great portions. Our waitress was friendly attentive, and quick. Superb views and a very comfortable and warm environment.

Good place for a meal

I booked a table here for a group of us, but we then last minute decided to go elsewhere. Then I received an annoyed email from owner because we didn't show up... We decided to go to another restaurant because I'd heard about owner's behaviour towards some females... sounds awful, creepy, uncomfortable. Seems like a place only suitable for blokes ?

Fantastic pub with great staff. We went for a drink on Christmas Day evening as we were doing the north coast 500 and were surprised to find it open. We met 2 Mikes! ?
Mike the owner was super friendly and we had a great chat together. We would definitely visit again in the future!

Food and drinks: Food is gorgeous, selection of lagers and cider on tap were great. Highly recommend!!

My sister and I absolutely loved the location and the lovely staff. We enjoyed the food, the views and Mike a friendly, funny and welcoming man he made us laugh, he is an excellent host and enjoyable company. The staff were attentive and the accommodation clean and well maintained. There are plenty of places to travel to enjoy the truly scenic views and various activities. I would definitely return to this inn if the opportunity is ever available.
Rooms: Comfortable room with necessary amenities with a stunning view of the sea just steps away. Good food and well cooked and presented.
Nearby activities: Dornoch and Tain are well worth visiting we liked the character of the places and the Harris Tweed gifts which are expensive but well made. The bar restaurant in Tain Platform 1864 served excellent food. Travelling on the tiny Nigg ferry to Cromarty was also an experience I really liked the Scandinavian shop in Cromarty and visiting the courthouse museum. There are plenty of things to do be it boat trips etc but you may need to travel but it is worth it. A ten out of ten for the Highlands.
Noteworthy details: The Mermaid of the North and the wild birds on the beach. The friendliness of the people in the Highlands I did not encounter one rude person. Definitely the views in the interconnecting seaboard villages that are also connected to other towns.
