We received a really lovely, warm welcome and were seated in a cosy dining area in the hotel. The menu offered a great selection, and the food was delicious. The portions were more than generous, and the wine was good. The washrooms were very clean and spacious. We look forward to making it our regular go-to place for good food and a great atmosphere.

On a positive note, Richard and Rebecca were convivial hosts, however the hotel is well over priced for the quality of the accommodation and service. Our room was badly in need of redecoration, there is no digital television service and the food offer is pub quality at best. Bedroom wasn't serviced during our 2 night stay.
No itemised bill will be provided on departure - a view of a summary is available on Richard's mobile - just not good enough. Won't be back

Lovely lovely LOVELY little hotel. The owners Richard, and Rebecca were such great hosts. We had such a fun night with them. The late night pizzas were great, highly recommended to try out the highland pizza. If we?re ever back in the area, we?re definitely booking it again.

If you value people and food over luxury accommodations, this is the place for you. I had a wonderful stay as a solo traveler.

We came here for a meal just wanted some honest well cooked food. We got that and more in abundance, from the greeting to the service the food was delicious. Richard and Co made a long stressful journey melt away thank you so much, Caroline and Martin

Stayed in our motorhome in the area provided and ate in the pub. Jimmy the barman was full of energy, very helpful and efficient. We had Cullen skink, haggis balls and cheese ?n mac. All in all a nice night was had (we were tired after playing the local golf course). Cosy atmosphere in the bar. Lovely touch with our names on the table. Highly recommend.

Friendly landlord. They?ve now opened a separate area for walkers and bikers: ?because many walkers smell and don?t know it!?, half-joked the landlord (I was a walker..). Food was generous portions (I couldn?t finish my chips, but the fish was moist and tasty).

I stayed here this week whilst doing the nc500 by cycle. A warm welcome, friendly atmosphere and plenty of food and drinks. A lovely family run pub. Many thanks. Andy and Agnetha ?.

We camped at the Strathcarron hotel while on the Cape Wrath trail.
Camping was in small field across the road. There was the remains of a large bonfire in the centre of the field with bits of old metals poking out, and old rusty bits amd pieces around the edges. The grass hadn't been cut for some weeks so was long. There was nothing to show it was a campsite, no tap or refuse bins, you needed to use the hotel loos to dispose of rubbish and get water. It all felt unkempt.
There were no rules and a large group arrived late, pitched tents all around us, and then they sat up chatting and drinking until late.
We were offered pizza when we arrived as it was after lunch service and before dinner. It was £12 but was of extremely poor quality. Hardly any cheese, and I felt it was overpriced.
The showers are located off the bar, so they can only be used in the evenings. They cost £5 per person. There was plenty of hot water , but they weren't clean, lots of debris from previous users left in the cubicles. It was all a bit grimy.
We ate in the restaurant, it's low quality pub food with restaurant prices.
Despite us having spent £112 for camping, showers, pizza, and dinner, they wanted £1 to charge a device.
I'd advise buying an extra dried meal at Kintail crafts, and staying in the mountains and don't bother coming here, it doesn't improve your life to feel this ripped off.
