Outstanding hospitality and generosity from our hosts at the Strathcarron hotel. We stayed at the hotel whilst walking the Cape Wrath Trail and when we arrived late, hungry and tired after our long days walk, the owners showed no hesitation in making sure that we were fed and watered. Even the dog got a royal welcome. And we were very grateful for the lift along the main road to save us a last couple of miles on tired legs. We couldn?t have had a better stay. Thank you

Cape Wrath walkers Camp, refuel and possible have a beer or three! Great value camp site. Ok it's next to a road and basic, but their is a good hot shower and toilets available to use in the hotel. Food options good and quality, price spot on. Staff friendly and helpful.

Awesome couple, couldn't do enough for us and made us feel like old friends although we had never met them before. They made us food although the kitchen was closed. The room was comfortable and clean, everything we needed. We booked for a couple of nights later but unfortunately had to cut our holiday short. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Skye, hopefully soon. We wish them all the very best with their business. Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings, highly recommend. Sandra and Alain :)

The owners were very gracious. They immediately provided us with dinner although it was time for the kitchen to close and presented us with a feast for breakfast the next day. Richard helped us chart our itinerary for the drive back to Edinburgh. The hotel is charmingly located, surrounded by a small village. The sun rises early in the Scotland summer, so keeping the shades low is advisable. The beds are not the most comfortable but the ambiance and the lovely food and hospitality more than made up for it. I would recommend this hotel; make time for it on your tour of Scotland.

All other local cafes seemed to be closed so this was a welcome stop for coffee Did not sample food or hotel rooms Cheerful staff and reasonable prices I understand there are stay over spaces for camper vans too Situation makes it handy for travellers

Since the owner seems to like take cynical backstabs at people who post negative reviews I will simply let pictures speak a thousand words about this £140 per night room (and we have stayed in lovely, refurbished, clean rooms in scotland for a lot less than that).

After a very long drive was so happy to come across the Strathcarron Hotel. Even though they were busy Richard found a space for us to have a lovely meal and allowed us to park our camper out the front. Would definitely recommend. Not many pubs/hotels like this nowadays. A real homely feel. My husband is looking forward to coming back for his breakfast tomorrow morning. Annie & Danny

Extremely friendly and welcoming. Very generous and helpful staff Very comfy bed. Great food. Great ales. Right next to the train station which is very handy for people travelling without their own transport. Exactly what I needed when attempting the Cape wrath trail.

this little gem was a welcome rest after camping for days. Christine is a very welcoming hostess and her home/B & B is so lovely. In a charming setting overlooking the loch it offers a beautiful room ours with the view. Breakfast was very nice and filling and offers of more coffee were very welcoming. Her price is so good too. We wished we could of stayed longer. thank you christine for the hospitality and we loved your paintings

Great B&B, spotlessly clean, well appointed with an eye for detail (e.g. the lovely tea selection in the room). Christine is a very friendly host, and wel really enjoyed the breakfast. Great location between Skye and Eilean Donan, nice view from the window.

Chris is a warm, charming and welcoming host, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious and filling. The bed was very comfortable and (unusually, as I don't tend to sleep too well in unfamiliar places) I found myself getting a solid 8 hours in and woke well refreshed. This guesthouse should be rated #1 for Balmacara. Thanks Chris for making my stay so welcoming and relaxing :)
