I popped in yesterday as I am staying in a holiday rental. I was impressed with the range of good and other items on offer. There was also some lovely warm food available in what looked like the extended part of the store. I say warm because it was not available to be tested which if you are on the move isn?t really ideal. I do have to say though that the service was poor. Despite heavily engaging with the older man who served me I left feeling I never want to go back. There were three older men in the shop and smiling and nodding and trying to engage them didn?t meet with a positive response. So when you say friendly in your marketing blurb I have to say I disagree. A good proposition spoiled by surly staff.

Filling station only useful from one direction - the device isn?t long enough to fill up on the offside and it?s not designed to allow turning (if you?re a bigger vehicle or no power steering). You need to do a three point turn at either side or try to turn there - not easy with traffic parked outside the shop. Not very well designed, but handy if you?re desperate to fill

We have been in this part of Scotland multiple times over the past 6 years, and without a doubt this shop has a fine product range of both food and non-food stuff on offer. However, over the past 6 years we have visited this shop dozens of times (one has to), and time and again it strikes us that the staff is very friendly towards the local customers, but unpleasant and stiff towards tourists like us. So unlike the vast majority of Scots we have met around here the last couple of years. If there would have been another shop around here, this is one I would avoid whenever possible, but alas.PS: When in need of fuel, be warned that many (foreign) debit cards cannot be used anymore since the card reader at the pump cannot obtain an authorization of the bank, resulting in an failed transaction.
