A hidden gem in the Highlands. From the very first moment, Cristina and Ros welcomed us with a warmth that goes beyond excellent service. They are not only great professionals, but also truly kind-hearted people ? something you deeply appreciate when you're travelling.
Ros?s cooking is outstanding: every dish is crafted with care, full of flavour and creativity, offering something far beyond the usual options in the area. A real treat for anyone looking for more than just the classic fish and chips.
The restaurant has a refined yet cosy atmosphere, beautifully decorated, with every detail taken care of ? even the bathrooms are spotless and thoughtfully designed. A unique culinary experience, one of those you remember fondly. Highly recommended. An absolute hit.

Had a very bad experience here today where the hostess was so unhelpful - we were stuck in a storm and wanted a baby change room for our 7 month old and also wanted WiFi to check the route as the road was blocked and there was no internet. The hostess did not let us use the washroom and neither did she shared the WiFi password and also asked us to leave the restaurant in heavy rain. Had to change my baby in the car in between a storm.
Don?t know how such people still exists who does not have basic decency to help other humans under dire circumstances.
P.S - we wanted to buy coffee/snacks but they were fully booked. Not that we wanted to use the facility for free.

Truly a lovely dining experience. This is a calmer restaurant, not really a boisterous pub or roadside stop type of place. Somewhere to go and relax, enjoy a high quality meal and be able to hear your loved ones in conversation easily.
We made a reservation the night before so it made arrival easy for us, and we were sat immediately.
The food was incredible quality, with exciting flavors. Tonight was the first night of a new menu, so we could tell they change it up regularly in order to keep everything new and lively based on what's seasonal and available. We got the fresh bread rolls, a side salad, the beef cheek nachos, the cod with beans, and the banana pudding, and we would easily come back and eat the same meal again! Everything was seasoned and spiced really well, and cooked to perfection. Even the garden salad was refreshing with a touch of fresh spearmint to brighten up the shallot vinaigrette.
The atmosphere was nicely lit, and the restaurant had clearly gone through a remodel recently making it feel new and fresh.
Our server was friendly and quite attentive, as far as Scotland goes, especially for the area. We were grateful to have our order taken quickly, the food came out well timed, in courses, nicely paced to our own relaxed speed.
10/10 highly recommend.

Sadly will never go back here. I have been stopping off here for the last 10 years probably 6 or 7 times a year on my days out over the west side. It has always been a great place for snacks , sandwiches, cakes, coffee and so on, and without a doubt was the best place to stop. Stopped there today and it?s changed hands and they have made it into some of fine dinning ? , well tried to. This is not the spot for that and won?t last long, this place has loads of passing trade and are all holiday makers passing through going to applecross and other sites of interest and 95% of people passing in the day ether want a light lunch or snacks or just a drink and sit outside the amount of custom and money they will be losing will kill them. You need every bit of custom you can get over the summer as winter is dead. On average a couple would spend say £25 to £35 on snacks and drinks and a family of 4 say £50 they will be losing hundreds of pounds a day and you can not afford to do that up here. Anyway me and a friend stopped for snacks on our motorcycle and thought it was a bit odd that 90% of the outside tables were empty , well one table taken and next to no cars . on the hottest day of the year so far. And almost everything else was closed as it was a Sunday so they should have been busy. Well we asked do you do snacks or cakes only to be told no we don?t do cake it?s fine dinning now. Said oh right can we have two decaf coffees then please . So paid £7.60p for two coffees. What turned up was a cup the size of an egg cup with and inch of black coffee in it like an espresso? Really, we did not ask for an espresso we asked for 2 decaf coffees, and what?s the point of a decaf espresso ? My mate took 3 sips and it was gone and I left mine. You really should tell people what sort of coffee you are serving up. I was shocked and so was my mate, never in the uk have I asked for a decaf coffee and got what was served up to us. We were dying for a drink and one mouthful is not a drink. Now I must say I am not knocking the new owners I am sure the food is nice , but pulling up at a beautiful spot for a bit of lunch sadly this is not the place to stop anymore. I personally think what they have done is a big big mistake and doubt it will last a season in this format But I wish them well , sadly I will never go back and it?s a shame as it was a cracking place to stop for a light lunch. Photo of cup looks bigger than it really is. And on a side note if want to use the toilet the bit that they have tried to make fine dinning area which really does not work in front of the old cake counter they have carpeted which really does not work at all you have to walk through so when people are eating you are walking past them to get to the toilet. I felt I was walking through someone?s front room and I felt I was disturbing the to tables that had two old couples at. With the Scottish weather the light grey carpet will not last at all. The place just feels all wrong inside. Big big mistake in that area you need the passing traffic to stop, people with there kids, dogs , couples out for a day. These are your customers and 99% do not want a full evening style meal at 2 o?clock in the afternoon.

New owners have just taken over the restaurant and they have certainly hit the ground running. Christina who runs the front of house is very welcoming, cheerful and helpful. Excellent in her role, she is attentive to the needs of the diners without being intrusive. The food is also excellent and the chef chooses to use locally sourced ingredients which are of the best quality and full of flavour. He certainly does them justice. The choice of dishes on the menu is imaginative and beautifully prepared and presented. Four of us went to the restaurant for lunch whilst on holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We chose to return on two further occasions; once again for lunch and later in the week for dinner and we were never disappointed. We highly recommend this restaurant. We wish this very hard working couple every success in their new venture. They deserve it.

It was perfect! The soup was delecious and so were the vegetables. The desserts are exceptional, i would come back just to try them all :) Christina is very kind and brings a touch of mediterranean energy into this very scottish town.
