A wonderful experience from start to finish. We were greeted by warm and accommodating reception staff, our room had an extremely comfortable bed and the decor was traditional and cosy. The room itself was clean and had all the facilities needed, there was even a basket with treats in that made us feel so special. Room service was great with good quality food brought in good time by friendly staff. The views were beautiful over Stirling. Free parking is provided (you can register when you check in at reception). Centrally located for restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. Breakfast was of good quality. We would stay here again without any hesitation.

Location is key. Approx. 3500 ft walking to the castle. The rooms are a bit weathered and I didn't realize this was a converted school, but... was a really cool, chill vibe and was super quaint and quite. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful and kind. I really enjoyed my quite stay here. It's exactly what I needed after having a stroke 7 months ago. Such a charming town ???Walkability: Steep walks, but totally doable. I had a stroke 7 months ago and still walked all overFood & drinks: The food was surprisingly good... lol, I had a cheeseburger my first night ?Really tasty libations

Absolutely amazing to wake up in a place where William Wallace once stood, the history leaks of everything this hotel has to offer, very chilled bars with cosy seating areas to visiting the castle just 5-10mins from the room, prices are really affordable, fantastic, it also has a pool and spa, will come again and againRooms: Great room but not relevant to what's out there when you close the door and set foot outsideNearby activities: Castle, monument, high street, all within 20 Mins away by foot or a bus to the monument,

The hotel lacks the basic things that you would assume are customary in a 4-star hotel. You need to purchase water, you need to purchase a pass to use the pool, you need to purchase a pass to access the gym and other amenities. The beds are old and form fitted to previous guests over their estimated 20 years of service. The showers are extremely small and fixtures that are absolutely showing their age.....Staying in a nearly empty hotel.... construction in several rooms nearby, loud hammering, skill saws, and general banging around. When we asked the front desk about solutions IE moving rooms, we were told that is not an issue because it only starts at 8am..... being on holiday, we would love the option to sleep past 8am. Given that we are away from kids.Given the other options in the area I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. I am not sure how this hotel earned a 4-star rating. This is a fact that makes me question the validity of the rating system itself.

Staff are all very professional, customer focussed, pleasant as well as helpful. Room was immaculate and facilities terrific. Best part was evening meal. The selection at breakfast was amazing. I had small issue with bill that was rectified immediately without an issue. Would stay

I want to emphasize the amazing and polite staff here. They honestly did their best with the facilities available and were consistently accommodating and kind throughout the day. We visited the Stirling Highland Hotel for a spa day, but I can only rate it as below average when compared to other spas. This is primarily due to the outdated facilities and a lackluster view.In my opinion, the management of this location should seriously consider a major renovation, as there is so much untapped potential. To start, the changing room showers are extremely old, with visible black dirt on the sealant tape, cracked tiles, cobwebs around the windows, flaky paint, chipped tiles, and shower controls that are also chipped. The poolside lounge chairs are showing signs of wear and tear. Furthermore, the sauna is infrared, not the traditional kind, and the steam room has a fluorescent blue light that reminds one of a different setting entirely. While the pool itself was okay, it was rather shallow. In the relaxation room's waiting area, we encountered issues such as a broken water dispenser and a lack of milk. The waiting room itself felt cramped and was poorly decorated, and the massage room, while functional, allowed in too much light through the window. On the bright side, the staff who served us during the afternoon tea were delightful and accommodating. They even allowed us to enjoy it 30 minutes earlier than scheduled. However, the afternoon tea experience itself resembled party food for children at venues like a trampoline park, a bowling alley, or a laser quest. It consisted of three small finger-sized sandwiches, each with fillings like ham and mustard, egg cress, and cheese. The middle section featured two micro scones for each of us, accompanied by cream and jam, while the top section had small, bite-sized cakes. Although the cakes were nice, it was apparent that they were store-bought. We were served two cups of Nescafe coffee, and we learned this because a staff member asked if we wanted two packets to compensate for their weaker taste. We found ourselves heading to a nearby coffee house to satisfy our lingering hunger.Overall, our experience was underwhelming. Nonetheless, I must reiterate that the staff were truly wonderful.

Really lovely hotel, with great staff. Superb location with plenty of parking in the heart of the old town. Loved our stay and had surprisingly great haggis and black pudding for breakfast. The bathroom in the room we stayed in was run down with broken tiles, but overall a really nice hotel.

This hotel went above and beyond. My family and I recently stayed the staff was very friendly to make sure you have a comfortable stay. They even mailed my sons new clothes that he forgot there so it was his fault back to us here in the US! We?ve never had that. This is a must stay hotel as it is centered near the historic church and castle. I would like to personally thank the staff personnel that work there you are what made our stay enjoyable!Rooms: Rooms are nice and quaint and offer comfortable amenities. This location has a lot to offer if you want to lounge around or go swimming!Walkability: This location is in a desirable area as it is near a lot of the historical areas that you (the tourist) would want to visit!Food & drinks: This hotel has restaurant in its location. They have a large spread of amazing food on the buffet in the morning and made to order for those who want something different.

Fantastic time away here. Liz was great at booking my husband and I in and assured us that my dietary requirements were going to be catered for. Francis who was in charge of the dining room and breakfast the following morning was an absolute gold star ? as she had prepared everything completely for my dietary requirements and was extremely friendly, polite and perfect at making each person feel relaxed and special. She encouraged us to utilise the dining at the hotel as she had spoken with the chef and they would cater for my requirements. Unfortunately the young lady in charge of the organisation of the seating of guests let the hotel down as she was not too professional and was a bit rude. She should shadow Francis where she could learn exactly how to do her job. Maybe she's not had much experience in her job position.I would however, encourage people to stay here as it's a beautiful hotel and it's very central in Stirling.Food & drinks: Had dinner one evening in the hotel restaurant and had been assured by Francis that the chef would alter menu items to help with my dietary requirements (lactose intolerant). I had read through the menu and decided on a tomato risotto and also added a grilled chicken breast. Unfortunately the dish was a total disaster - risotto was extremely stodgy, no taste or flavour in fact extremely bland and the chicken was so dry and again no taste or flavour so unfortunately I couldn't eat it!!! The young waitress had asked if everything was all right with our food and I explained that my meal was disgusting and also my husband had Aberdeen Angus steak burger which was burnt (he hadn't even been asked how he would like it!) So I wasn't happy at all. She replied by saying she would inform the chef. Later though she said I was about the fifth person to complain about the risotto in about 2 weeks ???? I promptly asked her why it was still on the menu????. Next morning Francis dealt with it all. Shout out to Francis. This hotel needs more people like you in the job ??

I have just had a stay in a family room with my 2 children we have stayed here quite a few times already and every time we have a great time. Staff are very helpful and lovely. We had lots of fun exploring the hotel and pool. Breakfast this morning was so tasty. Already planning our next stay.

We had our wedding here Sept 2023 and it was an amazing experience! We are from the US and had American family and friends come over for the ceremony- most stayed at the Hotel as well. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and stocked with all essentials. Hotel is close to all fun things to do in Stirling. The staff, both wedding/ event and Hotel and restaurant are beyond wonderful! We toured (and donated to) the observatory located on the premises, our tour guide was so nice and informative. Overall great location and stay. Food and drink great as well. There is onsite parking too.

We stayed for a 1 night spa break. The spa facilities were pretty good (only issue was the hot tub was only in action for 30 mins while we were there we were told it would be up and running again soon but this didn't happen). The spa area was nice and the massage I had was amazing! Our room and most of the building was a bit dated and could really do with an upgrade. Rooms don't really block out any sound so was quite hard to sleep but not the worst. Breakfast on the other hand was hugely disappointing. It was served 7-11 and we arrived at 9.40. There were no tables available so we waited for a little while. Once seated the selection was poor and a lot of things were empty or only not very appetising bits left over. They were having renovation of their restaurant so breakfast was in a different room so I don't know if they were just not set up well but it was honestly the worst breakfast I have had in any hotel. In addition to there not being a good selection the quality of food was not good and a lot of the hot breakfast buffet stuff was a bit rubbery and like it had be left out for too long. Overall would recommend the spa and massage but would not be keen to stay at the hotel again and if I did stay again I would skip the breakfast.
