Great for dog walking, parking is £3 for 3 hours (at time of writing) and the café offers a welcome cuppa on a soggy day!

The woods here are amazing either for a walk or for any of the mazing MTB trails. The visitor centre has a nice eatery, pizza etc. The main draw for a cyclist however are the trails and a well stocked bike shop (HOPE) with two resident mechanics.

I absolutely adore this place. I stayed overnight in my camper for 2 nights overall whilst exploring the Galloway forest over a fortnight, and I worked from the cafe for a whole day too using their WiFi and power sockets for my laptop. The staff are so kind and friendly and knowledgeable, the facilities are spotless and very useful. I showered there on one day too and had a great 4 minute, hot shower for I think just £3.I felt very safe as a lone female camping here for the night.

Staff are always so lovely. The cafe have options for dietary requirements (best carrot cake you?ll ever try!) and is always immaculately clean.

We had some lunch here and really enjoyed it. There was lots of information regarding things to do in Galloway Forest.The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Kirroughtree Forest is a fantastic walk with great settings. Ashame that the cafe there cannot compare. Staff were completely ignorant and they simply straight up refused to acknowledge our existence. The two behind the counter kept there heads down like a pair of ostriches. Walked out and didn't bother spending a penny.

Great sausage rolls & coffee. The homemade cakes are excellent. This cafe could be more of an attraction in its own right if the car park wasn't so exorbitantly expensive. An hour free would be a great idea. Being nearly empty on a half term week means something isn't right..

A clean, warm modern cafe serving a large selection of meals and snacks. The lady serving was friendly and helpful. We had toasted paninis served with salad and crisps which were delicious, and excellent coffee. Just the place to call in at after a walk around the forest on a cold day.

What an absolute gem of a cafe. It's such a beautiful setting and the team in the cafe are so welcoming and friendly. Nothing better than a fabulous pizza after a stroll around the forest.
