Whats the point in having a phone and telling me to phone for half past 8 for appointment but phone is off the line with no one answering. Shambles. Better chance at winning the lottery than I do at getting any appointment here.

Tell you to call at 8:30 and can never get through til about 9:30 As they can?t take calls? They are an absolute nightmare.

I have suffered from a bad back and sciatica for nine weeks now, in the interest of not using valuable appointment space, i called the practice 8 wks ago and explained my pain, i was issued a prescription, I completed the medication and was still in pain, i continued with paracetamol hopeful that it was pass as i had been told it can last up to 6 wks, at week 6 i had to call back, I couldn?t get an appointment again but was given another prescription, i have again completed the medication but still no relief, my Christmas holidays have been ruined due to the worsening pain, so on the 27th I was ready to call at 8:30 and was so relieved when the call was answered, I explained to the barbaric receptionist and of course was given no understanding or appointment, i was told they were only dealing with emergencies today, i thought that was the purpose of A&E! I have been very mindful of not taking space for people who have worse issues than me , but after nine weeks i find it upsetting and disappointing that I can?t get medical assistance and was told to call back tomorrow, I will take my complaint to the NHS medical board as this practice needs to be highlighted for its inability to offer due care and attention to its patients , I?ll bet their own families don?t go through this??.

developed a soya intolerance during lockdown and had to fight to get seen not knowing it was the cause of my severe reflux, spent over a year being given increasing dosages of omeprazole with no result, eventually discovered removing soya was causing a relief of symptoms and when phoned up to inquire about it got a nurse instead of a doctor, when i asked if i could get allergen tested to confirm it was told no we dont do that even though i was tested for coeliac before the omeprazole, was told to buy allergy tests online as they are too busy, when i pointed out they had done tests before she told me to go try eat soya and see if causes a reaction then laughed and hung up.

This practice is unprofessional and badly managed. I was to have a morning telephone consult and the doctor did not until 5:25 pm. They do not treat patients with respect or try to resolve complaints. Their reception staff are rude on the phone and the Group Practice Manager does not respond to correspondence. In order to cover their mistakes and errors they distort the truth about events, fabricate false statements which they no to be untrue. When you contest their false statements in writing with solid evidence of their wrong doing they do not reply.There next tactic is to contact the NHS Practitioner Services and request the patient be removed from their list. The Practitioner Service cannot refuse the Ayrshire Medical Group request and the patient has no right to challenge the decision.I am taking my complaint to higher levels within the NHS and Scottish Government. If you read this and have any similar experiences with this GP Practice I suggest you inform the Chief reporter at the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald.I also will be willing to hear from others that might want to raise a complaint With the NHS Ayrshire and Arran, NHS Scotland or the GMC.Something needs to be done about Ayrshire Medical Group to compel them to treat patients with respect.Dr James A SharpIf you want to contact me you feel free to locate me on line

Ready for a breakdown! I order my dad's prescriptions every month and he was admitted last year to hospital. They changed his pain meds but I did get them changed back. But for the last 3-4 months nothing but trouble not prescribing them or not enough. Now needs review after speaking to a pharmacist who was going to sort them! But now she cant and needs a doctor to review them! And so now I need to keep trying everyday to get a doctor to phone my dad. God knows when thatl be!

The receptionists Cheryl, Angela and Sandra are helpful however I have tried for years to get an appointment face to face with a GP to no avail. You can get a triage appt where a GP or more likely a nurse will call you back if it is deemed an emergency. I was told by Elaine that there was no way of booking a GP appointment in advance which is UNTRUE because I was advised yesterday 24th Nov 2022 that you can indeed ask for an appointment face to face but it may be 3 or 4 weeks in advance which I think is acceptable. I was advised to call on 1st December as the appointments will be released then. However the biggest hurdle is getting through on the phone. Everyone phones at 8.30am but you cannot get an answer till well after 9am then told no appointments left and to try next day. I gave up for myself but am persevering for my grandson who I was advised by advanced nurse practitioner to pick up a self referral form for his very sore toe as he would need to be seen by podiatrist. When I picked up the form and phoned the podiatry service I was told that the form was an old form and the quickest way of getting a referral is to get the GP to refer him on Sky Gateway otherwise he will wait 12/18 months for an appointment. This is despite the advanced nurse practitioner thinking as it was only done looking at pictures of his toe that he has a part of his nail embedded in side of toe. Surely this should have been referred to a GP to look at it. He cannot wait 12/18 months he will be unable to walk by thenNo wonder A&E is overrun with patients as it is almost impossible to actually get to see face to face any GP. You actually have to be near death before that will happen.I have had a very serious operation myself but still absolutely no help from this surgery. Maybe all surgeries are the same I have no idea. I was advised if I wasn't happy I could register elsewhere but why should people who live in Stevenston have to register elsewhere to get any sort of care. Once you do actually get a call from a GP they are very good and I'm sure they themselves must be disillusioned with the way things are going. I do not believe this is the kind of service they were expecting to give patients when they became GPs. I'm sure every day they get the same complaints. More should be done by Ayrshire & Arran Health Board but complaints seem to fall on deaf ears. UPDATE on podiatrist, the GP called me back 25/11/22 and is now making an urgent referral for my grandson but why this could not have been done by ANP I do not know. It would have saved the GP having to look at pics and having to call me back.

Disgraceful practice. Can't even get a simple form signed. 5 weeks and I'm still going back and forth waiting. One receptionist is lovely, the other is horrid. Interrupts, nips at you, rolls her eyes when you're in front of her. Just horrible. No need to treat people like that when they ask a simple question. She couldn't care less, find another job, customer service clearly isn't for you. Also trying to get an appointment is a joke. Was told I had phoned too late...at 9.04am. How are you supposed to phone for an appointment at 8.30 with so many people also waiting to get through!
