This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The last time was nearly ten years ago, and I enjoyed my stay back then, which is why I decided to return. I have thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay this time as well.
The hotel?s reception staff was kind and very helpful, assisting me in upgrading to one of the executive rooms. The Old Tom Morris room is absolutely worth the cost, as it is the most spacious on-site, with a great sea view, very quiet (which is vital for a good night's sleep), and a super-large bathroom with a roll-top bath. I love the room's decoration and color scheme, which gives me a warm, relaxing feel.
The location of the hotel is as convenient as ever, which is one of the reasons I chose to stay here in the first place. It's within a 10-minute walk to the heart of the town, and there are sufficient parking spaces in front of the hotel as well. I have fond memories of the hotel?s breakfast, and the quality has not dropped over the years. There are many hot dishes to choose from, and the fruits and yogurt are still my favorites.
I would also like to give a special mention to the efficient service of the housekeeping staff. After I requested additional bath cubes and shower gel at reception, they were delivered to my room before I even returned upstairs!
Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Du Vin St Andrews, and it will always be my first choice of accommodation when I visit St Andrews.

A great location close to the Olde Course. Rooms were well appointed. Plumbing was slow so that was my challenge (amount of water on flush was inadequate and occasionally almost none - could have been because I was on the top floor).
Good little bar and great restaurant. Staff very friendly.

Stayed overnight with my better half along with my elderly parents, both in their 80s now. Mum suffers from dementia and her mobility isnt great but the hotel staff couldn't have been any more thoughtful and attentive towards her ensuring that she was happy with seating arrangements at dinner and even returning her handbag the following day when she forgot to lift it the previous night after dinner.
As for the hotel, room was standard but very good size and was spotlessly clean. The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent. Shout out for all the staff, all excellent, especially the attentive restaurant staff at dinner.
Rooms: Spotlessly clean and good size for standard room.

We had an amazing stay. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and very homely. Definitely worth upgrading to a sea view room. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Food from the bistro was delicious and they do room service too!

Nearby activities: Lots to do. Close to the North sands
Safety: Very safe area
Walkability: Very walkable (as St Andrews is)

I come here regularly with my husband to celebrate our milestones. We've created memories dining here at Hotel du Vin. The food is always excellent, steak cooked to perfection and it's always deliciously paired with a wine. The staff are extremely professional and knowledgeable on the menu and the food is always exceeds expectations. Definitely recommend making this place your regular stop.
Food and drinks: Amazing selection of wines

Great location, place to eat. Rooms were amazing but my only complaint, get softer beds. For what I feel is an up scale place, the beds were rock hard. Other than that, very nice place.

Dining at The Bistro at Hotel Du Vin in St Andrews is akin to stepping into a world where taste and tradition hold hands in perfect harmony. Today, my partner, her mother, and I revelled in a meal that felt less like a dinner and more like an embrace of festive indulgence. The room itself, with its rich, understated luxury, whispers of understated refinement.
The festive menu was a triumph, a playful nod to Yuletide favourites with a deft touch of sophistication. The prawn cocktail, that much-maligned relic of 70s supper clubs, was here reborn as a shimmering jewel of the sea. A perfectly balanced mélange of sweet, plump prawns and a tangy, effervescent Marie Rose sauce, it was the undisputed highlight of the meal. A dish that doesn?t just sit on the plate but demands attention and applause.
Service was the kind that transforms an evening from lovely to unforgettable. Tom, our host, deserves special mention. He was the sort of young man every restaurant dreams of employing: attentive without intrusion, charming without effort, and willing to go the extra mile at every turn.
The Bistro at Hotel Du Vin doesn?t just offer a meal; it curates a memory. It?s a love letter to good taste, both on the plate and in the way you?re treated. For anyone craving festive cheer served with finesse, this is where you?ll find it.

One of the most dog friendly hotels I have ever been too. Staff were absolutely superb. The receptionist staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Bar staff were great and the young lady making the cocktails was fantastic. Don't normally go back to the same place twice but will definitely be back.
Rooms: Lovely and comfortable with every amenity you would expect.
Nearby activities: Walk out the front door and you are on the beach in 5. Bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance
Walkability: Yes. Everything within a couple of mins walk.
Food and drinks: Cocktails were superb.

This is a beautiful hotel on one of the most expensive streets in Scotland for real estate. Still, it was very reasonably priced when you consider that. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the bar is nice and dark and secluded so it feels cosy and private. Patrick is an excellent barman and really knows his stuff. The front desk staff were also superb, very friendly and helpful (and loved my dog). Most of the hotel is dog friendly and this was a big plus as we were able to celebrate a birthday without having to get a dog sitter. I have been here a couple of times and would not hesitate to go back. Only very tiny criticism would be the windows in the sea view room needed a clean but only on the outside, the room itself was beautiful.
Nearby activities: As it is right in the centre of town, it is very close to the Old Course (I would say a 6 iron), right across from the aquarium and 5 minutes from the beach.

A tale of two halves. Came to the Bistro for their afternoon tea. The afternoon tea itself was excellent and the freshly baked scones were a fine addition. The view out to the sea is also wonderful if sat in the bay window area.
Now to the negative. The major let down is the service. Once the afternoon tea was brought the table we were completely ignored thereafter. The Bistro was empty bar ourselves and one other table so no excuse for staff not to be attentive. Staff were not present and predominately spent their time in the kitchen area out of sight. Sat for nearly 1hr after we finished the afternoon tea waiting for someone to clear the table and provide a cocktail menu. I?ve experienced more attentive service in a pizza hut and for the money they charge and the reputation the hotel carries, it?s extremely poor and quite frankly unacceptable. The staff themselves were pleasant and helpful once you got facetime with them but it shouldn?t take me having to leave my table to chase down and locate staff on 3 separate occasions to have them provide a menu, clear the table and present the bill.
On a whole, lovely afternoon tea but prepare yourself for some disappointing service which kills the experience overall and as a result won?t be back.

Characteristic hotel perfectly inserted into the context in which it is located, overlooking the sea and next to the most prestigious golf course in the world.
Elegant and refined, it has very comfortable rooms with attention to detail (a Nespresso machine is available in the room for coffee).
Formal and professional welcome, as expected from a structure of this level.
The only very negative note - but which did not compromise my stay - the restaurant: in my opinion the menu needs to be completely revised.
Rooms: Very comfortable rooms with luxury amenities. Bathrobes, iron, expensive soaps, nespresso and water.
