This place offers a great selection of breakfast options, tea, coffee and cakes in the great atmosphere of a book shop. The staff couldn't be nicer! The price range is very reasonable, given how delicious the food is. I ordered the chorizo sandwich and the homemade granola with yoghurt and compote and couldn't recommend...

The staff are lovely. The coffee is delicious and they have a great selection of fresh cakes which seems to offer different treats each time I visit. The book shop seems nice too but I must admit that I have never spent much time there.

Had the most amazing salad with home made gluten free flat bread. It was so lovely and it was great to feel properly catered for as a coeliac. Was a four hour drive but so worth it!

Based in the beautiful Scottish Borders village of St Boswells, we like to think of The Mainstreet Trading Company as a destination in itself. Back in 2008 we renovated a former auction house, to create a light and airy space filled with books and the smell of coffee. In 2012, work was completed in the barn behind the main shop to create Mainstreet Deli & Home, launched by Tom Kitchin. 2018 marked our 10th birthday at Mainstreet, we had an amazing year, culminating in winning Britain’s Best Small Shop.
