A great guest house with a warm welcome, excellent breakfast and stunning views up the Kyles of Bute. We had a dog friendly first floor room and he was able to join us for breakfast. There's no designated parking but we had no bother parking outside. Extra tip for dog owners: there's easy access up Leopold Road into Bogany Woods.

My wife and I stayed here after a 10 day holiday in Spain with the kids as a recharging break for us both lol. We had a warm welcome from Jane when we arrived. Who advised us our room was ready to go and that they would have our cream tea ready for us when we got down from unpacking. When we got back down and sat at the front window waiting for our cream tea we were blown away by the view out of the massive window, it was stunning and made even more amazing as the sun was shining and we had clear views for miles. We could have sat there all day and night. Cream tea arrived and it was delicious, the scones looked a bit odd but as we found out we were guinea pigs for this and they had been made in an Air Fryer yes they looked odd but they were delicious and the Jam and cream with them was devine. Though giving us 3 caused an argument as to who was getting extra and you can't half a scone, can you? Lol. Thanks go out to Skye I believe for the scones. We did not have a sea-view room as we were on a budget however if you can afford it it is most definitely well worth the extra cost. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable and like most B&Bs you could sit and point out faults with things being dated and needing painted but this did not distract us from our stay. The art work dotted round the place was stunning especially certain pieces which were painted by Jane herself. The one at the top of the first flight of stairs I would have in my own home I loved it (and I'm not artsy) shout out also to Skye's needle work which I couldn't confirm may be hanging on one of the landings if this is yours wow just wow looks like lots of time went into it. Good breakfast selection, though for me it's all about the full Scottish, food freshly cooked to order and absolutely superb. The best breakfast I have had in ages. Guest house is licensed so you can order a bottle/glass of wine or beer to enjoy along with the views from the patio area, or the lounge area indoors if the weather is wet. Parking on the road outside. Situated about 5 minutes drive from the ferry terminal or a 15 minute walk. Great location for leaving car and walking in for a drink/meal at night. Last mention goes to Alfie the dog who had a game of fetch with the Mrs though I think he was making the Mrs do all the fetching. Highly recommended and hopefully be back soon.

A warm welcome from the hosts. We had a sea-view room well worth the little extra cost. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Good breakfast selection, food freshly cooked to order and absolutely superb. Guest house is licensed so you can order a bottle/glass of wine to enjoy along with the views from the patio area, or the lounge area indoors if the weather is wet. Parking on the road outside, but we didn't find it a problem. Situated about 5 minutes from the ferry terminal. Highly recommended.

We have been coming here for our visits to Mount Stuart since September, a total of 5 stays and each time is amazing. Jane, Skye and Alfie the bichon, go out of their way to make us feel very at home. The rooms are great with views either to the garden or the sea. Breakfast is amazing, perfect to set you up for a busy day. The recommendations for dinner resulted in one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a while.

We've had a wonderful stay, Jane and Skye and their four-legged helpers are great such hosts and the location is just fab. I could gaze out of the massive picture window and enjoy the view all day. The 'grumpy fish' wall paper and other touches add some fun, and the hearty breakfast set us up for the day to explore the island, with some stunning walks.

Absolutely brilliant week spent at the Ardyne, very large room with stunning views, Jane, her daughter Skye were both at hand any time to answer queries or advice, whole team were faultless, breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice, which was served quickly and fresh and hot. Lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere which encouraged other guests to get to know each other during the course of their stay. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.

Our short walking break was a delight, particularly thanks to The Ardyne, Jane and her team. Ideally situated, it gives an informal but comprehensive service, local information and superb breakfast to start each day. We were given a warm welcome, great amenities and our whole stay was easy, with good access to public transport and within walking distance of all amenities. Well thought through and service with a smile. Thank you!

Jane was simply charming, rooms large and hotel beautiful and quirky. Views breathtaking and breakfast superb value. Rothesay seems to be falling on difficult times so please go and support it and this lovely, thoroughly decent business.

Great views from front of building , pleasant owners and staff . We had a room on the top floor but anyone with mobility issues would be better lower down . Very good breakfast . Comfortable bed and good en-suite with a bath and shower . Short 15 to 20 minute walk into Centre of Rothesay and ferry .
