We booked this as a one night stop over on the way back down from the north of Scotland. A real little treat for 1 night and a bit of fun. Kate was very responsive to my emails and made us welcome when we arrived a little earlier than expected. Our carriage for the night had two bedrooms with two bunkbeds which weren't the comfiest for a tall guy(6ft 4) but fine for 1 night. We sat out to eat a takeaway from Sid's spice(fair) in Braora and it was very pleasant to sit and take in the quiet. A few card games were played which was supplied by the host which was pleasant. We left relatively early the next day but would recommend this and the helpful hosts.

We stayed for 4 nights and could not ask for anything better. Comfortable, warm and excellent, helpful hosts. The surrounding are beautiful and the villagers are friendly. Close to the Black Isle and the start of the NC500.

Fantastic location for one night at the start of our NC500 adventure. Kate was warm and welcoming, and the Deanston carriage was cosy and comfortable. We had all the cooking facilities we needed to knock up a decent dinner and breakfast for two, plus spotlessly clean bathroom facilities. The Inverness-Wick train stops right outside, which was fun to watch. The owners started up their onsite steam engine for a disabled lad who was staying in another carriage, so we got the pleasure of watching that go up and down their private bit of track. Really worth an overnight stop, whether you?re a train enthusiast or not (we?re not, but loved it).

We stayed just for 1 night at the start of our NC500 tour. I wanted different experiences for every night and this was the best! It was cute, clean, fun and very comfortable. Our carriage was very warm and the beds surprisingly comfortable- we slept like logs! We loved the fact the owners kept most of the original features throughout and I couldn't help wonder how many other women had applied their lipstick in the first class carriage mirrors and what experiences awaited them at their destinations.

Stayed here for two nights in 'Strathisla' 2 beds, separate sitting area, separate shower and toilet and a kitchen with kettle, toaster, microwave and hob. It had everything we needed and I loved that the carriage still had lots of the old features it would've had when it was running. Very clean and separated from the carriage next door, we were asked to walk through the garden so we weren't crossing paths with others which was fine for us. Kate was lovely, explained everything to us and the carriage was lovely and clean. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed here for one night, absolutely loved it, the carriage was bigger than we thought, with shower, separate Bedroom, Sitting room and well equipped kitchen. Lovely and quiet. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Stayed 2 nights in Deanston, a double bedded carriage with small but perfectly adequate kitchen with space to eat and a shower room with toilet. There was plentiful hot water and the bed was cosy and comfortable. Kate is friendly and keeps the place super clean. It?s great value for money too. The nearby pub is now closed so it was great to have a kitchen.

We stayed for one night in the ?Strathisla? 2 bed sleeper carriage. The space is great - with many original features of the carriage still in place. Kate is a welcoming host, the carriage is clean, comfortable and cosy, and has a well equipped kitchen for a short stay - a perfect combination for a stay along the NC500 route. Highly recommend, and would return.

Great location. Great facilities and a real hidden gem. Plenty of facilities to cook an easy evening meal (hob, microwave, sandwich toaster, toaster plenty if pans & utensils). Lovely breakfast basket provided.
