My husband and I went down to Prestwick for a wee day trip on Friday from Glasgow with our wee dog Lexi, we were feeling a bit hungry spotted that the Red Lion had a beer garden so would be good to take the dog also noticed the two meals for £15.95, ordered a drink asked the bar staff about the meal offer only to be told that we could not have this because we were sitting in the beer garden, quite frankly I was flabbergasted could not understand why the same food was more money for sitting outside in a not very nice beer garden that was covered in cigarette ends, so we finished our drinks did not order the food and will not be back.

Absolutely fantastic as ever. This is a special place for special days ??? had a lovely time on Friday 1st August. A surprise retirement lunch via my lovely colleagues and we were so well looked after by the attentive staff on duty. Food was brilliant. Everyone enjoyed it and we will be back ???

Lovely lunch but huge portions could do smaller plates

Food was great and they fitted us in just before they stopped serving food. Decent prices too and the kids enjoyed the 2 course meal. Unfortunately deleted the pics I took but food was well presented too ??

Prestwick's Red Lion breakfast spots seem to understand the key elements that make these dishes great. While the general online reviews for specific breakfast items can be scarce, the presence of these items on popular menus suggests they are well-received. For a truly satisfying morning meal, these establishments appear to be solid choices, promising both the sweet indulgence of pancakes and the savory satisfaction of a classic large breakfast with perfectly poached eggs

Birthplace of The Open. An absolute must for Golf History buffs. Handy parking in the railway station about 3 mins opposite the pub.

I have been to the Red Lion restaurant with family on quite a few occasions and we were very happy, but we would not go back after the poor service given recently and the food was not very inspiring either.

I have often been for lunch or a meal and always enjoyed it sadly not today I had garlic mushrooms which were barely warm my brother had chicken tempura which he said was quite tasteless. My dad had balmoral chicken which he also said was not really very warm we all had dessert my dad had lemon meringue pie with ice cream but the plate was red hot so therefore melted the ice cream I asked for a second drink of gin which I then had to ask again twice for and was then given the wrong one a young waitress was I felt a little bit short and shook her head when I asked for my drink as I stated never experienced service like this before and although it was Father?s Day not overly busy and certainly enough staff on but we felt like we were put in a corner and forgotten sorry

Server(Carly) was really nice, chatty, gave us enough time to decide. Food was lovely, good value. Decor inside and out is lovely.
