Went to the showroom to look at getting a stove fitted back in February 2023. Was told it would be May before they could come and give me a quote and a further few months to fitting. I left my contact details and at the end of the year they have still not been in touch. Good job I went somewhere else with better service.

We?ve just had a Solution electric fire installed by Hutcheson?s and media wall with alcoves built around it. The installation team were wonderful from start to finish, (special mention to Rodney). Excellent workmanship incorporating all the last minute changes that we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble and at no point did we feel rushed into making decisions. They are a well established company and we would have no hesitation in recommending them.

We have used Hutchesons to fit 2 stoves so far and on both occasions their staff have been wonderful. The fitters Peter and Sean done a brilliant job and cleaned up really well upon leaving. They were friendly and knowledgeable about their trade and explained well what I was unsure about. Would highly recommend them.

Absolutely terrible. We had sold our house and the people that bought it as part of the deal wanted to have the Rayburn replaced with a wood burner. I did warn them not to use Hutchesons as my last experience was not good but they went ahead and bought a stove from them, as a good will gesture I offered to pay for it's removal and even permitted Huchesons into my property to checkout the work. My scope of work was to remove the Rayburn take it outside and put it on my trailer, the quote was £656.40 which I said was excessive, I was told after, having difficulty getting to speak to anyone, that was the price and I would also receive the black pipe that was to be removed (never did receive this and they did not answer email) I was going to get my removal team to be present when it was being removed to hump it out. The installation plan was taking ages to come off as usual, but I received a frantic call from the people who purchased our house that Hutchesons would NOT remove the Rayburn and install the new stove unless I paid UP FRONT for the removal! Due to the suddeness of the decision by Hutchesons to do the installation. I did not have ample time to moblise my own sourced removal team (who were going to remove it for £200). I felt obliged now as the purchasers of our property said they would miss the slot for the installation of their stove. So we got ripped off £456.40 that we felt we had to pay...never got the black pipe as promised and one of the panels was dented on the Rayburn and of course Hutchesons never replied to my email. I will never use nor do I recommend Hutchesons. No stars. One day I may tell the Hutcheson Woodpecker wood pellet burner story ...

What a superb company to deal with. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of stoves to choose from. Good price and delivery. And the installation was absolutely first class. Quick, clean, expertly done with great pride in how the job was executed. Couldn't be more pleased with the whole process and end result. Thank you Hutchesons of Portsoy.

Big show room over 2 levels, very helpful and friendly staff, who are also very knowledgeable. They also have a few of the wood burners lit so you can see how they actually look when in use and feel the heat from them. They also have their electric ones which are powered so you can see how they look.

Fantastic wood burning stove, professionalism and expertise installing. There has been a massive change to heating bills since Hutcheson?s of Portsoy installed Contura wood burning stove last year, so even more thankful for this coming into winter this year. Highly recommend! ??????????

Very disappointing - BewareBought a stove from these people 9 months ago. Beautiful showroom, helpful staff. However, I didn?t want them to install it. They didn?t seem to like that. After collecting I had to return to the shop twice more to collect the correct parts for it. I found this a waste of my time and annoying. But they apologised.Today I nipped in to buy a meter length of fire rope, 2 single skin bends and a foot long bit of pipe. I made the mistake of telling them I was pressed for time. The sales woman wrote down what I wanted, then for some reason had to go into the office for 10 mins to tot it all up. When she came back out looking sheepish, she tried to charge me £303. I looked appalled at the saleswomen and she said they could give me a 10% discount which would bring it to £276. Because I was in a rush and I live quite far away, I agreed. I needed to use the parts today. I said to the lady that doesn?t seem right is she sure? I also can?t say I knew how much it should cost, but I was expecting no more than £100. The saleswoman assured me I was getting a good deal in todays climate. Something didn?t seem right.When I got home I checked online. I could not find one single dealer who could get even near what they charged me. Even the most expensive retailer online was still over £100 cheaper. I used the parts and model number to make sure it was all like for like. They absolutely saw me coming and used the opportunity to scam me. Such a shame after the amount I have spent with them this last year. Will never spend another penny with this greedy retailer and I absolutely do not recommend shopping here. My advice is to spend your money elsewhere so they dishonest traders go out of business and the honest ones stay in business. Sadly, thats the only thing these people seem to care about.

Hutchesons were great to deal with, neatly installed a great stove- for the agreed fixed price, (despite it taking a wee bit longer than expected due to tricky chimney problems). Would definitely recommend!
