We didn't stay here but I wouldWe came here to have dinner while in Portree after being let down at a different establishment in the towns menu. The menu was very diverse and loads of great choices. The girls who looked after us were brilliant having a chat and even helped us pick out a breakfast spot for the next day which we were thankful for.The food was great and plentiful and we will definitely be returning when on skye

I had the pleasure of staying at the Tongadale at the end of November. I had originally booked an Airbnb on Skye, but when I checked in, it was far from suitable. The Tongadale was literally a last minute decision, and the best one I made on Skye. It's a charming hotel with clean and cozy rooms, a lovely bar filled with charming locals that honestly made my Skye experience even more amazing. Do yourself a favor and order the goat cheese salad at their restaurant. AMAZING! Not to mention the location is perfection. If my travels take me back to Skye, I will absolutely be staying at the Tongadale. Thank you to their staff!

Room was no frills but sufficient. There is a pot for hot water and tea. En suite. Very clean and well kept. Boarding house style. The attached pub gets busy at night, but it doesn't make noise up in the rooms. My room had a window overlooking Wentworth and I cracked the window for airflow (a little noisy but that's fine by me - it's quiet enough with the window closed). Located in the town square, the walkability can't be beat. The street is decorated for Christmas right now, so there's tons of light all night, but the blackout curtains work great. The real gems here are the attached pub/dining room and the staff. Absolutely lovely people, very kind and welcoming. Breakfast is great and I think it may be included in all nightly stays? Not sure. They serve anything from breakfast toast and grains to a Full Scottish.Rooms: Small, clean, efficient, no frillsNearby activities: Located in the town square so you'll be near any activities going onSafety: Perfectly safe for a solo female travelerWalkability: Everything you want is a 5 minute or less walkFood & drinks: Dining on site and TONS of great food options nearby. I recommend Isles down the street a bit and Antlers on the corner.

Did not stay here but stumbled upon the restaurant when we were walking around.Definitely worth trying especially the mussels! Be there early or risk not being able to enjoy it.Friendly staffs but service tends to be a bit slow.Been there two days in a row. Other restaurants have way worst attitude and at least the folks here are more accommodating.Burgers, pasta, seafood are all amazing. If you can get a table or needed to wait for one, by all means !

Restaurant only :I don?t even know where to start. The waiter was embarrassing and the staff wouldn?t listen to our complains. We waited too much and for nothing. The « food », and by that I mean a two giant goat cheese and unpeeled potatoes, wasn?t cooked, it looked like a joke. I feel culinary violated. Please don?t go there it?s for your one good.

Restaurant only:Culinary disaster, fries not cooked, burger venison and chorizo probably made by the 4yo chef's child. The only thing they succeed is the one they didn't do.Service was long and the waiter weird.

This is a comment for the hotel's "restaurant": AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Tasteless fish with bones, and uncooked frozen fries (anyone with a properly formed brain knows how to prepare a frozen dish). Most things aren't actually cooked...Let's not talk about the dismal service with a long wait for downright filthy dishes! If you care at all about your palate and your stomach, don't go through the door.

We are here and honestly it was okay. Nothing particularly wrong with the food, but nothing right either. I would personally pick somewhere else.

I stayed for two nights this month. The place is clean, the bed is comfortable and it's in desperate need of fresh paint and carpeting.I had breakfast twice, I appreciate their flexibility in what you order, but I was underwhelmed. The tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns had all spent too long on a steam table. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't go back. There is a pub downstairs - night one it was not an issue, but on my second night there was a Rugby Cup match. There was no way anyone could sleep until the wee hours of the morning. This is the nature of their establishment, I don't think they could have prevented it but if I'd known I was sleeping over the pub, I probably would not have stayed.

Far too expensive for what you get. Very disappointing.
