Amazing hotel experience. Staff were friendly and open for questions and topping up hotel extras (coffee sachets, milk etc). Perfect location with amazing views if booking the correct room. The room itself was really clean and comfortable, everything you could ask for in a hotel! Really peaceful too.Only negative would be that the restaurant never seems to be open when it says it should be. Were told restaurant shuts at 8pm so we went down on our first night roughly 7.10pm and they were cleaning up and some staff were leaving the building. Same story with breakfast, closes at 10am we went down at 9am and there was not a soul in the restaurant to serve us - this doesn't affect my rating however as there is plenty of other places to eat around the hotel (little cafe around the corner called The Caledonian Cafe does good breakfast options).Rooms: Cosy and clean.Nearby activities: Old man of Storr is about a 15 minute drive away, loads of places to eat just make sure to book ahead.Food & drinks: Loads of food places around about, co op a 3 minute walk away too.

Contrary to previous reviews, we enjoyed the Scottish breakfast options at the hotel - our must try options are the Haddock and the Salmon menu items. Very delicious! Rooms were comfy and spacious. Bathrooms were well maintained. Staff was friendly and amazing after you get to know them. Note: if you are coming with young kids or infants, you can only book the family room and not the others due to fire regulations (even if the kids sleep on your bed). Fortunately our situation was sorted out very quickly by the helpful staff, and we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, we misplaced our car key and gps tracker here due to being fatigued and absent minded from long road travels, but hopefully with a stroke of luck someone manages to pick it up.

The staff wasn?t friendly. When I walked in, the lady was absentmindedly staring at her phone, and looked unhappy when I tried to check in. Cute fish though. Hotel seems dirty too.Rooms: When I first walked in, it looked kind of- uh, dirty. The beds were clean though.Food & drinks: Food is pretty good, can order full course breakfast or just a bit so that?s nice.

A delightful meal was cooked for me here. I know two of the miscreants in the kitchen though, so I'm biased.I haven't rated the rooms as I wasn't ill enough to require one.

Deze tent maakt pijnlijk misbruikt van de disbalans tussen vraag en aanbod op skye. Duidelijk geen prikkel om zichzelf goed neer te zetten. Personeel negeert je in het restaurant en portie avondeten is zeer klein. Ze brengen niet standaard fooi in rekening, daarom alsnog 2 sterren in plaats van 1 ster.

Perfectly fine for a couple nights in Portree! Roomy, comfortable bed, big shower, everything felt clean. Breakfast at the hotel had a few hot options and a lot of self service options. I appreciated they had bread out to make your own toast with peanut butter and soy in the self serve fridge for coffee and cereal. Would

Most of this rating is based on the great view from room #16. The harbor and surroundings are thoroughly enjoyed from this vantage point as well as the bagpipes playing beneath the window on Tuesday evening.

Room:Good: Shower heat / pressure, view over harbour, central locationBad: Room like it?s not had anything done to it since the 90?s, WIFI didnt work, mouldy shower sealant (same as most hotels of this style, pet hate), mattress felt past its used by dateFood:Only vegan option was the soup of the day and no attempt to try and find anything else, asked if they had beans available and the waiter said no although there was plenty at breakfast ? ended up having chips as a main which who knows if they were vegan or not. Get with the times!!Asked for any sauces they had and the waiter gave us 2 sachets of ketchup so had to go and grab the sauces from another table. My colleague also had a hair in his cullen skink.Overall just a sub par hotel charging premium rates due to being in Skye and not had any work done in years.At least this trip was for work and I didn't have to pay the £190 for the night myself.
