“The STAFF ARE ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!!I know what people are talking about, but Skye has grown a lot over the last 15 years, DA’s was a great place to go and you never minded waiting as there’d be someone you know in the queue or you’d saunter around looking at stuff, making sure no one would get your place. As back then we all respected the staff and if they had a wee chat it wouldn’t last long if there were people waiting. But now with the massive influx of incomers, tourists who used to going to cvs/their country etc wanting their pills that here they’d need to see a doctor first to proscribe it first and they can get pretty snippy about it, by the time the staff members handed the customer there’s a bunch of people getting more impatient by the minute, but very lucky now they have had staff that have stuck it so they actually know what they are doing extremely well, efficiently too as they know where to go or how to action discreetly what the person is asking for to the appropriate person they go into the back/wherever get the item’s.I had a very challenging time being polite when a man who walked in front of me so I know the time he had to wait, straight away he started coursing under his breath, I politely said to him look at them they are proficient, nobody’s going in circles, they are obviously extremely understaffed and I’d like this team to stay and not be running out the door due to awkward customer’s, it sunk in after he gave me a quick tough guy look for pulling him up and quickly gave it a second thought when his blood really started boiling lol (not knowing my backs wrecked lol) I told him to contact Boots and tell them how understaffed they are.Anyhoo Skye is losing its friendly way every year more and more, instead of getting onto Boots people give the staff both barrel’s and all that’s accomplished that way is a part of which is a fantastic team at the moment suppressing the built up frustration wanting to answer in kind but they have to stay composed as the next customer will be wanting a smile, well if there’s no one in the queue to speak up for the staff, who again are doing the best with what space and amount of staff they have.I require a lot of medication for my back and not knowing the staff they did their best last year when I expected the same kinda routine as I had in the good old USA, never had to get repeat proscriptions in in Scotland before, but even though they were so busy, they were friendly as could possibly be to me and once I got the swing of things, I now leave the shop happier than when I got in.So after my wee review lol, try and put yourself in their shoes and if your a local just a friendly reminder to remember the Skye way, we aren’t city folk yet ;-) and keep this team that have worker’s who have lived here for generations one who speaks Galic very well and is one of the friendliest, hard working and polite young man I am fortunate to know, or the person who might have just arrived like the friendly Yorkshire man who I forgot to mention when telling Boots what’s going on, get onto Boots as I have done with absolutely no reply but same as the wee coop, ignored my email and the temp manager I lucky bumped into he didn’t do a thing, even though I pointed and named staff who have there for decades and same as the Boots staff on the flip side if there was a rude person working in Boots I don’t think Alex who is like a bolt of lightning and although he gets bombarded with negativity still toughs it out and somehow gives a friendly greeting??? they all get slaughtered every tourist season, no offence to tourists who we say fàilte dhan Eilean Sgitheanach - welcome to the Isle Of Skye:-)”
