Fab atmosphere, beer garden has the best views. Dog friendly bar. The staff are amazing and they have quality live bands on at the weekends. Whats not to love. One of the best bars in East Lothian

Very nice pub, it has a busy bar with a lounge which looks out large window over the sea. It has a good selection of beers and lagers reasonably priced, the toilets are clean and non smelly, nice place for an afternoon (or evening) drink

Just been to Scotland for two weeks on holiday and my hubby n son found this lovely pub as they wanted to watch the football matches.. we also went in as a family last Sunday and really enjoyed ourselves, listening and watching the band.. very friendly and welcoming and the pub reminded me of our own local (a proper pub )! Thank you so much for welcoming us, we really enjoyed ourselves... x

Visited to relive old memories. My aunt and uncle used to run this pub many, many years ago. Just popped in for a quick drink at a quiet time of day. Prices reasonable - £4.10 for a pint of Tennent's lager. Didn't ask about food so cannot comment on this. Barmaid was very polite and welcoming. It was nice to look at the old time photos in the lounge, particularly the one when the power station was being built as I was a pupil at Cockenzie primary school then. No more Links pit on that site and now no power station either. That's progress for you - nothing lasts forever!

People and saff seemed friendly enough. The pub was rocking at the time because there was a band on, but I think it still gets busy anyway. I would call again if I was in the area.

Great 'old style' pub. Lovely staff and customers. Even though, I'm a tourist, still welcomed by all. The view from the beer garden on a sunny day is stunning! And the Guinness is good too.

At Thorntree Inn, Where the Warmth Never Ends
In Prestonpans, where the North Sea sighs,
Stands the Thorntree Inn beneath brooding skies.
But within its walls, no storm can breach,
For warmth and cheer are well in reach.
The rain may pour, the winds may wail,
Yet inside, our spirits never fail.
With a pint in hand and a hearty cheer,
We find our solace, our laughter here.
Gentlemen gather, wisdom in their gaze,
Their smiles a guide through life's misty haze.
With stories spun and advice so clear,
They lift our hearts with each word and beer.
The hearth is warm, the company bright,
In the Thorntree Inn, all feels right.
For strangers here are strangers no more,
Just friends you've yet to meet before.
So let the North Sea howl and roar,
We'll raise our glasses and laugh some more.
In this haven of smiles, both old and new,
The Thorntree Inn, where joy shines through.

This is the warmest most friendliest pub you will find. The locals are all well connected and when you walk in you couldn't be made to feel more welcome. Awesome pub! Xx
