B&Q now have a clear, dedicated click & collect area next to the checkouts. Staff are always helpful and willing to help. The Garden Centre has improved much, noticibly plants get watered and look healthy on all my visits. End of Summer season sale is on right now!

Amazing service two days in a row from a colleague called Alison would definitely be going back due to the customer service.

It feels as though, with this being a big shop, that you can only comment on its essential necessities:Does it have doors that let you in and out? Tick.Does it let you buy stuff? Tick.Is it so huge that you can stay there and film entire movies without anyone knowing? Cross (Damn.)Does it make you wonder whether, if you return the trolley to the entrance area where you got yours, that you are you now trapped inside the building? Tick. (See above for important ancillary information)But it doesn't make you think about Steve?Does it?Sometimes, we don't notice Steves. We take them for granted. Steves are just there. Everywhere. Doing stuff. Doing unimportant Steve or Stephanie stuff. But we're all wrong for thinking this way.I've had the lovely fortune of meeting several Steves and Stephanies in this store, who stole my confusion from me, who redirected my misdirection, and who correctly interpreted my "I'm pretending I know what I'm doing and what I'm looking at" expressions and politely directed me to the correct aisle/physician/emergency room/tree surgeon. And also the Steve who recently helped with potting plant sizes, without being asked, and fixed a simple problem before we knew we had one. This was a bigger gesture and outcome than it might sound - I'm simpfying and obfuscating. We need to recognise the need for unexpectedly expert, kind, helpful, empathic people.

A NICE B&Q: I'm not a massive B&Q fan, but this is a nice store actually.

Staff very helpful. But the paint dept rarely has sufficient \ any stock of the paint I choose. More stock of popular choices is needed.

Can't fault it at all, all the bits and pieces I required and there were a lot, were right there on the shelves!

Had trouble finding a specific tap washer- Found fitting that "fit most sinks and baths". Job sorted. Saved a lot of searching.

Went looking for a bolt for cat tree. A lovely young man searched high and low but they didn't have it in stock. Then another lovely young man helped my friend and I to find the correct cat food. He had been washing the floor but had no hesitation when we asked for help and we ended up showing one another pictures of our cats. We were also given cheerful help in the flooring dept. After going through checkout the ladies there said they wished all their customers were as happy as we were. Have to give them a 5 star review for very good service on a busy Saturday afternoon. Thank you B&Q staff at Port Glasgow, we had a first class experience *****

I went into the garden centre. Overpriced for a shed that I had to build myself. I wish I could have taken home the handsome and charming garden assistant with the red hair and beard to help me build it. He was the highlight of my trip to B&Q.

Good shop. Plenty of space , helpful staff. I dont like the parking. If you dont have a child or a disabled parking card.. its a long way with your purchases to the car park
