Really beautiful family run hotel in Plockton. They were super friendly. The Plockton Hotel as well as Plockton itself was recommend to me and I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone passing by or on their way to the Isle of Skye. The town is a bit off the main road but well worth the small detour. It is super calm and it has very few tourists in March (before easter). The food of the restaurant is super delicious and you can choose from a great variation. The breakfast is super delicious as well and the selection is quite large too. I can only recommend it.

My favourite place to eat in Plockton. Privately owned with a very relaxed ambience. Staff are lovely and work very hard.I had a mother's day High Tea, which was excellent, plus ate there a couple of nights and had no issues. Steaks come on a sizzling platter. It's always busy which is the best recommendation you can get.I'm embarrassed to say I used to think the hotel would be far too posh and pricey. I was wrong. Give it a try if you visit beautiful Plockton. Please note this is the Hotel not the Inn which is round the corner and no longer privately owned.Noteworthy details: The view from the hotel is breathtaking. The location is in the heart of the village

Sometimes I am concerned that a review may make a place sound worse than it was. This is one of those, there were some definite negatives, but the overall experience was good. My final thoughts is usually "would I stay here again?" On this occasion I will start with that question - and the answer is "possibly - but probably not".The staff were generally very good, genuinely friendly and appeared to be happy at their work - which is nice and gives a naturally warm and welcoming atmosphere. There was also some live music in the bar which was great. One disappointment was the food. Dinner, both my wife and I chose a simple fish and chips so unfortunately I can't talk about any other options. Usually it is a pretty safe bet, and the fish was good. However the "big chips" were too big - in fact they were potato wedges not chips - they just weren't chips! They also tended to be a bit too dry inside. There were small (I mean SMALL!) servings of mushy peas and tartare sauce. If they had been a bit bigger there may have been enough to counteract the dryness of the chips. However, there was way too much garlic in the peas - not something I ever thought I would say. Nice that the chef was being adventurous - but that was overdone.Breakfast too was disappointing. The ingredients of the "full breakfast" had obviously been kept hot in the kitchen for too way long, worst was the bacon which was inedible (how bad does bacon have to be before you leave it on the side of your plate!?).The bedroom and bathroom were very nicely decorated, and (importantly) the bed was comfortable. However, I didn't like the electric panel heaters or the electric shower. I despair whenever I see an electric shower, I have never had a good shower from an electric shower. So, as I say - the overall the experience was pleasant enough, but with some big misses where the management were trying for a hit. Also, something I don't think they can do anything about - in a place with such fantastic scenery they seem to have no views being off the sea front. They seem to own the building opposite too, and there was a room on a higher floor than we were on, so maybe these have better views that let you see some of the spectacular location.

Stopped for Lunch next to a cosy fire. Hubby enjoyed his smokies and we loved our scampi and chips. Didn't sleep here only called in for food in the bar.

Whilst spending a few days with family in Plockton we had the absolute pleasure of having a meal at the Plockton Inn. It was delicious. Friendly staff and great service. The chef was very attentive also. Definitely worth a visit.

Very tasty grub. Not getting 5* only because I had to queue at the bar to order food ... personal dislike.
