Rooms: Rather tired but comfortableWalkability: About 20 mins down to main area but longer on the way up which is quite steep in places.Food & drinks: Excellent choice of food. Drink prices excellent compared to prices on main street.

Does not meet what the name Hydro might promise anyone. Old and shabby room. No heating in shabby bathroom. Door not as secure as it should be. Breakfast good enough. Evening meal had obviously been made earlier then kept in oven to keep it slightly warm.

Yes, the hotel needs updating but the room, bedding and towels were immaculately clean. Breakfast was lovely and being Coeliac they were very accommodating. The fitness and pool areas were great and so were the staff. Thank you for our enjoyable 4 night stay, we will be back.

When we arrived at the station (2 adults and a teenager 13) we set our sat nav to walk to the hotel it was dark as approx 7pm this proved to be funny in hindsight as it took us on a 20 minute walk up quite a steep bank, we found a much easier walk the next day which is a route through the trees at the back of the hotel (couldn't be used by anyone with a wheelchair) and only takes 10 mins into centre. Our family room was large and bedroom was clean and basic. We had only a view of the swimming pool roof top, but there are some lovely views from elsewhere in hotel. The windows are old, so do get condensation (to be expected) but the bathroom definitely needed a refurbishment- the shower looked like it was borrowed from the 80s and had very little pressure and the shower curtain didnt fit the bath. The bar and restaurant are ok, nice sitting area with choice of bar meals or al la carte in restaurant. The restaurant had set menu which we didn't feel was good value, given other options available at restaurants within a10 minute walk. They describe a cocktail lounge (4 cocktails on tap) but drinks are reasonably prices £21 bottle of wine. Music playing from play list through the week, unsure if thus changes on a Saturday. I did have a bit of an issue with cheese board priced at £4.95 in restaurant when ordered at the bar was charged £7.95 and when queried (showed on menu) was told by bar man it was done as a favour in bar area, as not on his till, so he had to put it through as sandwich (not sure that justified extra charge) all in all a pleasant stay and pool was a real asset with nice jacuzzi and sauna. Changing room adequate with lockers (require £1 coin). Board games and pool table also on offer which help when you have children. Staff polite on desk and there is a lift to 1st and 2nd floor. The breakfast was a buffet style but was replenished regularly. Cereal, fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juice also available to help yourself. This is a dog friendly hotel. Would stay again if visiting pitlochry.Rooms: Large but basic, bathrooms need updating.Nearby activities: The Dam ans salmon ladder worth a visit very interesting and a nice little walk.Food & drinks: Can get what you need in hotel but ferm cottage is amazing however is pricey but worth it. Lovely quaint coffee shops available in centre of town.

Overall service is diabolical !!!!!!!! Booked this hotel for a 2 night stay (£250) 1st evening we were in the bar area where there is a food menu which clearly stated food available till 20.30 . Approached the bar only to be snapped at by a blonde female that the chef has stopped taking orders at 19.55 questioned as to why only to be informed that the chef's makes the decisions whether service is likely to be cut early no info made aware for patrons. Girl involved was aware I was in the middle of emailing the company to complain then she then continued to be rude and abrupt towards me as she tried to say she told me she would ask the chef , I replied you certainly did not inform me of that continued to argue with me told her to go away as I did not wish the scene to escalate.Rooms: The rooms are a bit tired looking peeling plaster in the bathroom damp marks on the wall sink has a large crack and chipsout the ceramic not very appealing looking there is a towel.rail which is not working so bathroom is very cold . Bed base has nasty stains on base fabric

Our family stayed here recently, taking two rooms. Very good value. Rooms were big, warm and comfy. Enjoyed the use of pool and sauna. Plenty of options in restaurant, and food was good. Service great, except for language barrier resulting in error, but this was quickly corrected. Very large lounge to relax with couple of drinks before bed, without our young girls annoying other guests. My wife forgot her hat, but this was promptly sent to our home address.Overall, we really enjoyed the stay, and thought it was great value and location.

The lounge and reception area are really welcoming with friendly and helpful staff, breakfast had plenty choices and the food was great. It was an affordable base for exploring Pitlochry. The room however was a huge let down. I felt embarrassed as I booked the trip as a surprise for my partner. The room (228) is so dated and tired looking, it was nothing like I'd seen before and certainly a far cry from the room photos they use to advertise with. The horrific coloured curtains that were all ripped at the back were an eyesore, the bathroom flooring was a clinical looking vinyl and the furniture looked like it came from the 1800s. The TV lost a signal whenever the plug socket beneath it was used which was a slight inconvenience. The pool and changing rooms were clean, hotel and room was clean. Unfortunately the hotel as a whole is in dire need of complete refurbishment, uneven and bumpy flooring throughout the halls, ripped carpets, lift took forever to open and move etc. We enjoyed our very short stay here and couldn't fault the staff, but we will not be in any rush to come back.

We liked Pitlochry very much. There are lots of places to see around. After lunch we came back to the hotel and enjoyed swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. After it we went to the hotel's restaurant where they served very tasty dinner ( every day different menu). Staff at the restaurant and hotel is very helpful. Thanks a lot to everyone. We are looking forward to come back again.

I would have given 5 if we had been in a refurbished room. The room we had was clean, but just in need of a lot of TLC. The bathroom was old and tired. When looking out the window, we had a big bird poo covering one of them. However, the rest of the hotel was great! Service was good (especially at the restaurant), food was good and varied, lots of options at breakfast. We liked the entertainment on Saturday night.
