Very delicious baked goods, toasties were a little bland but the pastries more than made up for this. One of the older members of staff was a bit grumpy so dampened the mood a bit, all other members of staff were lovely

Great service, attentive staff. Breakfast was lovely, the ingredients tasted great and cooked well. Sausages were particularly good. Just a quick note on previous reviews not to dispute anyone's experience but we did not experience any sign of racism or hostility from any member of staff. They were all great, polite and friendly.

Very disappointing experience at this establishment in Pitlochry city center. We ordered 5 whiskey ice creams and coffees during a rainy day, but the service was extremely poor throughout our visit.
The staff showed no politeness or friendliness - not even a smile during the entire interaction.later When I requested cup of warm water for my father?s medication, I was shocked to be charged £2.25 for what should be a basic courtesy even after paying significant amount of money to buy several products.
especially given we were already paying customers.
The whiskey ice cream quality was not great at all compared to other local options. The establishment on the corner with the red exterior offers much better whiskey ice cream and significantly better customer service. We wanted to try a new venue and now we regret it.
I understand your position on business costs, but there are several points for consideration:
Medical necessity vs. commercial product: warm water for medication isn?t a commercial product - it?s addressing a basic human need. Most establishments recognize this distinction, particularly when serving elderly customers.
Proportional charging: £2.25 for hot water seems disproportionate. The actual cost of heating a cup of water is mere pennies. Your markup suggests this is more about policy than covering genuine costs.
Industry standards: Most cafes and restaurants in the UK provide complimentary hot water, especially for medical purposes. This is considered standard hospitality practice, not an entitlement.
Customer value: We spent significantly on your products. Charging additional fees for basic courtesies to substantial customers is counterproductive to building customer loyalty. The goodwill generated by waiving a £2.25 charge likely generates more return business than the minimal cost recovery.
The fundamental issue remains the unwelcoming attitude we experienced. Even if you maintain your charging policy, basic courtesy shouldn?t be an additional cost.
For a tourist area like Pitlochry, this level of service is unacceptable. Staff training on basic hospitality would greatly improve the customer experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business and will be taking my customers or friends and family elsewhere in future. Not recommended there are much better quality whiskey ice cream and better service in a few minutes walk . Again not recommended.

The toilet downstairs is filthy and right next to the food prep which also is dirty.
Avoid. Much better alternatives in the town

Very rude service, food was just okay. Small service area and if you aren?t in the right spot to order they will yell at you, even if there are kids in the way for you to get to the counter.

Unpleasant service. Coffee cheap and watery both Americano and iced latte. Chocolate eclair hard and old, vanilla slice passable. Waste of my hard earned money

I stopped in for a light lunch. I had a ham and cheese toastie which came with a nice side salad, a cream horn and a white coffee.
Good selection of sandwiches, drinks and sweats. Small and cozy atmosphere, though could be a little cramped if busy.

Hot drinks ok but that was it. Food was not good, tasted cheap and poor quality of ingredients. Service was lacking and I was left waiting ages before they even acknowledged me at the counter when I was waiting to pay. I then asked for a receipt, the staff member was rude and sighed and said wait a minute as had to print off 3 because I?d ordered at different times! We ordered hot drinks, then they came back to take food order and then we added a scone!?hardly a disaster but she made it out like it was our fault for this inconvenience! Never again.
Prices high for what you get.
