Had my car in for repairs to the suspension, stabiliser link and one of the rear arms. 3 days before I had Halfords? mobile fitters fit 4 brand new tyres.
Upon leaving the garage, the steering wheel was in the wrong position and everything felt wobbly and unsafe. I took it back and asked them to look at it: they did, sent me on my way and I presumed it was sorted.
6 weeks later, I notice that something feels really wrong and I discover by looking at the rear tyres that they are heavily worn on the inside (see photos). I couldn?t believe it as they were only 6 weeks old, and that myself or my family could have had an accident or penalty as a result.
Hence, I contacted Halfords and this specific garage, yet after four online chats and the garage not answering when I called the number they suggested, they still have yet to refund me for the tyres and the cost of a new alignment which they should have undertaken when fitting new parts.
It is a disgrace that consumers have to deal with this sort of disregard to safety. If it is not followed up promptly, I will writing an appeal to Small Claims Court under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
If you care about your safety as well as the safety of others, I would highly recommend you avoid this garage.

This place is fantastic. The staff are really nice. I got an e-voucher for a half price 30 point car check. So I took it in only took 40 mins, they did fing a few problems a few minor which they fixed.

Dropped car off back of 8am for Air Con bacteria that booked online. Staff were great, friendly and welcoming. Was all done within 45 mins and they called to let me know could pick car back up.

Went in to get two new pre ordered tyres fitted at the front , and which I also informed them of the cracked near side front wheel which was to be welded the next day. This would all be fine if they just did what was asked ie fit two new front tyres.
However this is where Halfords manager decision making went off track and costs me money. The front near side wheel was swapped with the rear near side wheel before both front tyres were replaced . Ending up with the rear near side being binned because apparently it was 2mm worn. Which didn?t need to happened and didn?t ask for and further two other garages in Edinburgh inspecting the brakes didn?t mention the warn tread at all.
So the end result I now have totally regretted even going anywhere near Halfords Perth, although mechanic seem quite helpful it was the manager that was defensive and explaining the problem to clearly someone he thought didn?t understand that two wheels had been swapped and a tyres had been binned all of which I never asked for .
Anyway my advice go to Kwik Fit

We were recommended to speak to Phil but we never got to speak to him. The manager, at the desk, was unhelpful (didn?t offer to get Phil for us), rude, brusque and had no helpful recommendations. Jordan spoke to us outside and kindly referred us to Dragon Performance who were outstanding.

I have never met someone more arrogant than the manager here (not sure if I'm allowed to name, so I'll just call him by his initial, C)
He was not only rude to me but also a member of the staff working here!
I was very close to just walking out.
He doesn't listen to anything you have to say, no eye contact at all, clearly thinks he knows it all working at halfords! it's actually embarrassing.
I felt so sorry for the mechanic who had to endure him, and I'm sure he's a horrible person to work for.
The mechanic who did the work for me did an amazing job, though, and I hope he either gets a new manager or a job at a better garage where his work is valued.
Wish I had went through the bad reviews before visiting as the whole experience dealing with C's attitude was just a waste of my time.

I used Halfords McConechys for my MOT only because I have a service contract with another garage. The whole process from booking, reminders, arrival at the garage and pickup went smoothly. I was able to walk into the town centre for a coffee whilst I waited and received a message when the vehicle was ready for collection. The cost was discounted due to my Halfords membership. Very good service.
