We were so lucky to come to this sweet restaurant during our visit into town at just the right time. normally you would need a reservation. The owner and staff were so lovely, we were taken care of incredibly well. The food and tea were such a delight! I only wish I could take the chai blend home with me! Best I've ever had!

Love Victorian theme & crockery & tea pots.
Staff are wonderful and very attentive and the foot was super delicious.

Effie's was the most charming and lucky spot we found on our train layover. The interior was clean and filled with lovely antiques. The atmosphere was incredible and all staff was wonderful, efficient and friendly. We highly recommend this business.

Effies was delightful. The staff are truly nice. A cute quaint tea house with a delicious menu. They prefer cash to pay the bill.
Parking: Parking in the nearby parking lot made it convenient to walk to Effies. There is an attendant there who was very nice. You pay for the time you were there when you leave using the machine using coins. You can use an app if you have a Scottish bank card only.

Lovely,ultra-traditional tearoom/restaurant.Unlike a near neighbour with a presence nationwide,service here was prompt and very friendly,food on both visits freshly prepared and delicious,and excellent value for money.Owner was a delight to chat to.Unreservedly recommended.Best to book as they seem to have a loyal clientele at lunchtime.

I came back here because the food was so good. It?s such a shame that on both of these occasions the service from the senior members of staff has been disappointing and their attitude toward younger staff was condescending. We had lunch and a cake today and were hurried out in within an hour so they could get more customers in. For a place with such atmospheric potential, the experience for customers is unfortunately not a priority.
