I go in to this shop almost every week, as I live 5 minutes away & have been served alcohol by the same Asian woman working in there countless times with no ID requested. I am 25 years old next month, so this is understandable.
This evening, I nipped in to get my father a bottle of wine. Waited for 5 minutes in a queue of 4 people, and no sign of anyone on the till to serve. Finally someone appeared (no apology). When I was then served, I did not have my ID on me on this occasion (and as they all 100% will recognise me now in the shop and do not ID me I did not even think it could be an issue). The same woman who has served me more than 10 times then refuses me without an ID. I proceed to show her a picture on my phone of my passport (photograph and date of birth) and still she will not accept.
I understand they have a rule to check, however I think it is a disgrace, when I am in there so often, to have been refused me randomly today. Maybe they shoud be more consistent, because this has really annoyed me.
Terrible, slow customer service.

Waited in large queue with one assistant counting and selecting scratch cards etc this is appalling service why was there no other assistant available it was 10 am !!! Busy day people were purchasing groceries not bloody scratch cards not good enough gambling before groceries! Essentials first not scratch cards or any gambling it?s a grocery store first and foremost.
