The best fruit scone I have EVER had. Filled with fruit and well fired. Highly recommended.

A cute wee place off street. Had an average menu which would suit all and fresh home baking.

We stopped for a quick lunch as it looked quite promising. Unfortunately, we felt the food here was all quite dry and expensive for what it was. The presentation looked the part but the ciabattas were dry and the tuna wasn?t mixed with mayonnaise which made it even drier. The baked potato didn?t have any butter on it or with it. Three teas came in one pot for the table but charged £2.20 each (£6.80 for 3 tea bags and some warm water). We also asked if the tea could come at the same time as our food to which the waitress said yes, that?s fine and proceeded to bring the tea 10 minutes before the food which made it cold by the time we had it. Overall, £27.70 for a dry lunch and cold tea. There?s a Greggs and Costa and other small tea rooms in the town, go elsewhere as it just wasn?t worth the money for us.

Really disappointed. Ordered a baked potato when it came it was very dry, tuna had no mayonnaise so was dry. Ciabatta fillings were sparse. Asked for tea to come with meal told that?s fine then waitress brought straight to table and food 10 minutes later so it was cold. Cost £30 for the pleasure of poor food and cold tea. Won?t be back

Tempting to say this is a hidden gem, but given how busy it was today it?s clearly a really popular cafe for locals and visitors alike. Traditional cafe, affordably priced, great home cooking, lovely staff and oh those cakes! It?s a good sign when people are happy to brave outdoor tables in November, and now I understand why! Be prepared to wait for a table Saturday lunchtime but worth it.

We stopped off for a quick coffee today, never been before. Hidden little gem of a coffee shop in Peebles. Coffee and tea was great and we will be back for lunch very soon! Staff really nice and friendly too.

We enjoyed a Cream Tea outside on the terrace. I chose the fruit scone which came with fresh clotted cream and jam, and it was absolutely perfect. Probably the best scone that I enjoyed on our 2 week trip (and we had one nearly every day!). It's worth seeking this place out, which is just off High Street off a small alley sandwiched between two store fronts. You won't regret it!

It was our last day in Scotland, and my husband and I wanted one last Cream Tea, so I looked online and found The Oven Door on main street in Peebles. We were close by, so it was no bother to park in the town's free parking lot and cross the river to Main Street. We were very excited to see home made fruit scones, so we ordered our Cream Tea to enjoy on the outside terrace that is off the main street. The scones were fabulous and came with fresh cream and a vial of fresh clotted cream. Combined with the excellent pot of tea, it made for a delightful treat. My husband was certain to tell the owner how much we enjoyed our treat, and she came out to talk to us for a bit. We certainly hope to get back sometime in the future when we can taste one of the treacle scones that she makes weekly. Make the effort to seek this place out. You won't regret it!

Hidden down a close, off a small courtyard, this former bakery is popular with the local people. We enjoyed bacon rolls with our morning coffee. We would return another time with appetite enough for cakes.
