Our family of 4 spent a week at Riders Retreat and we had a fantastic time! We had everything we needed with onsite access to Glentress trails, onsite bike rentals, restaurant and bar. It was great to come back for food and drinks after a day of riding and the breakfasts were terrific! Murray was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We spent most of our time onsite, on the trails and in Peebles and could've stayed another week to explore the area more.
Nearby activities: Glentress trails, mountain biking

What a great little place at the foot of the trails! A warm welcome, even though we arrived close to the end of check in time. Great breakfast and nice family room. A perfect rider stopover as muddy shoes and muddy bikes are welcomed as a sign of a great day! Just what we needed!

Booked a 2 night stay. Hotel was clean, modern and had a relaxed vibe. Murray and staff very welcoming and couldnt be more helpful, bar food not super cheap but was very good quality and portions were decent. Dinner and breakfast were both very good. Secure bike storage and wash were handy and the proximity to the trails at GT was brilliant. Youngest had an pretty big off and ended up in hospital- folk at the hotel were amazing. Kept our bikes safe for us and supplied me with coffee and support when I needed it. Couldn't have been nicer.Hoping to be back in the future once we're all back on our bikes. Thank you.Rooms: Clean and modern. Perfect for a short biking trip. Had everything we needed.Nearby activities: Glentress. Peel Centre 3 min ride away.

Called in for a pint after our first day ever on an MTB. Great welcome from Murray, he went out of his way to help us set up our bikes which we knew nothing about as total novices. Great lad!And a great pint too!!

Couldn't have asked for more from a place to stay and go riding. It's the details that make the difference like the warm welcome we received, bike wash and storage facilities, tasty food and drinks, amazing shower, comfy bed, and the ability to make a good few cups of tea to warm up. Thanks for a fab weekend... we can't wait to come back!

Called in for some food. Was quite expensive I thought at £20 for a farmyard stack which was quite small served with a small portion of chips. It was tasty though. What really surprised us was we were charged £9 for 2 cokes, which is the most I've ever been charged for 2 soft drinks. I wouldn't go back for this reason.

Very friendly place. Family room warm and cosy after v v wet mountain biking at Glentress - plenty of hot water and warm beds. Filling breakfast and evening meals. Not v cheap meals but reasonable enough in today's world of inflation costs - 2 x kids meals (+added veg) + 2 x adult mains + soft drinks + x 2 ice creams = £80. Might suggest RR add veg to children's meals rather than having to buy side dishes? Super convenient for Glentress trails. Would stay again. Thank you. NB if travelling by bus the bus stop back to Edinburgh is 500m back towards Peebles and not opposite bus stop as marked by Google maps and suggested by (well-meaning) staff member.
