Visited the Abbotsinch branch and spoke to the lovely Denise about ordering a hall carpet. She was very helpful and organised Jason to come out to the house and measure. This was ordered and fitted within a couple of weeks. The carpet fitters, Jamie and his son Danny, came out and made an excellent job of fitting. So much so , I'm going back to order a new carpet for my living room and will request to have the same carpet fitters.

Recently had a carpet fitted by Tapi Paisley. Stairs , upstairs landing and two bedrooms.After a couple of days we noticed some flaws in the carpet. We contacted the shop to inform them of this . Next day someone was out to check the carpet, told us there was a flaw in the the carpet and that they would replace it.The carpet was replaced within a couple of weeks.Absolutely outstanding customer service, I was so impressed I phoned the shop to thank them.

Iv spent a lot of money, with this company, and got a very poor service, they wait till they have yr money, and then say O sorry, the assessor, the measurement guy, can cant came out, he's on holiday, then. There is only one guy doing this job, Yr lucky I'm fitting y in so tuff luck if Yr in a hurry. If y have weeks to hang around great company to go to, but want go out of their way, and are very abnostious when y try to get things moving, ????? trecles on a spoon woukd be quicker.The girl I was dealing with wasxreally nice. But they didn't seem to want to go out of their way. To help I was replaceing 3 carpets which is a lot of money.I was so and it was one excuse after another, only I can't get the 2 carpets anywhere else, or I would go elsewhere, I'm very very disappointed with tapi, and 5 fitters aren't much better, I now they are private cintracters, but for the time they where in 5he house, I feel I was ripped off, not a nice experience

Now, as this was a chain store predominately aimed at the same audience as Carpet Right (the general public who, with respect, don't know much if anything about the trade), I knew this was going to be considerably more expensive than buying roll ends from another well known Scottish trader. The salesman who was dealing with us then handed us over to a lady called Denise. By this point, we had noticed the initial salesman had actually AMENDED the accurate drawing and measurements we had provided on a piece of paper. He had taken this off us at the start of the visit. I felt condescended by this, and started to feel something wasn't right.I also noticed that the backing of the carpet we were ordering was a strange hybrid of felt back and hessian. When I asked about the logic behind this, I was told it makes no difference. That is so not true. Different backed carpets serve different purposes.We sat patiently while Denise started to put things through on her computer. Now, at this point we were not committed. She showed us various samples of underlay and bars. We selected two bars and a middle of the road underlay, which looked quite expensive for what it was. Normally, I would buy underlay from Amazon and any fitter worth their salt would see it as part of the job thus including it in their fitting quote. However, we were advised that should we choose to do this, Tapi would charge so much per square metre to fit it. More alarm bells ringing here.A good few moments later, Denise gave us a price verbally. She did not show us the breakdown of how she got to this and she kept her monitor facing her. Having worked in furniture sales myself, she was clearly attempting an assumptive sales close. By the point myself and my wife were discussing this, she declares she is going to get the card machine.Feeling pressured, we paid the excessive sum, still none the wiser about how she arrived at such an absurd amount. She told us the invoice would be sent by email, and they would be in touch "at some point" to confirm a fitting date. So all in all, very shady. Very much an exercise into closing the sale as quickly as possible.Once we returned home, we received the email. On examination, not only had they ordered two carpets of the exact same size (the rooms couldn't be more different!), but they added a "Delivery & Care" package without our consent. This is blatant mis-selling and illegal.Immediately, I called them. I got through to Denise, advised her I wanted to cancel the order for the aforementioned reasons. She couldn't have been nicer at this point and asked me to go in the following day to justify the cost. I hung up, discussed this with my wife. We agreed we were still not happy, so I called back and spoke to Denise again. When I assertively told her we were needing our money back, her attitude completely changed and she snapped, "oh, well I need to check with my manager. See you in five minutes." and hung up on me!My wife, now pretty much a raging bull, phoned them back. After having spoke to me horribly two minutes earlier, she couldn't have been nicer to my wife! She defended her actions, stating that she was simply away to get the card machine. She was now getting unbearably pushy, trying to tell us we needed the extra carpet (no, we categorically DID NOT!) and trying to arrange a fitter to come out and conduct a "proper estimate" in case we got our measurements wrong (which we didn't... I'm not stupid). After five solid minutes of objection and objection handling tennis, she eventually relented and agreed to refund us the money.We have since went back to buying roll ends and our own underlay, gripper etc. The quality of carpet we have now got down is far superior to that of Tapi, and cost less than half of the price. Please, for your own sake, shop about! Do a bit of homework first, get yourself clued up on joins, gripper, bars, underlay and basic maths for measurements.So!
