Loved our stay at the Ashtree! This was an exceptional experience and our young kids loved the ambiance of the hotel. The proprietors were wonderfully kind and we enjoyed meeting them. There is easy access to the hotel, free parking, quick walk to lots of restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores. Paisley is such a historic town with a lot of old architecture. Would definitely recommend.

Loved our stay here, beautiful old building and well run. Will be back.

Stayed here as we were attending a gig in Paisley. Ideal location for the town centre and with convenient on-site parking.Room was beautiful and very spacious with everything we needed, including a hairdryer, tea, coffee and hot chocolate and bottles of water. There were nice toiletries provided too.Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of cereal fruit salad and yoghurts, as well as several hot dishes. The owners were very friendly and chatty. We will definitely stay if we are back in Paisley again.

Want a real taste of Scotland? This is a must stay place for you! The whisky bar, the in-house restaurant and the proprietors of this establishment excel at excellence! The breakfast and the dinners are top notch. Only complaints are the rooms can get very cold (as this is a historic establishment), the showers can be tight in some rooms, and the owners can be a bit slow on the technical side of things (answering emails, etc.) So, be prepared to bundle up if you stay here. Make sure and ask for washcloths as they don't automatically provide them. You will absolutely adore this place and we will be back. The owners are very charming and the place is incredibly cozy. It's nicely centered in suburban Paisley and the train station is merely minutes away. Nice shops and restaurants within a minute or so!

Absolutely lovely this hotel. Owners and staff are wonderful and helpful. Definitely be staying here again. Loved it that much that I stayed a second night. A very homely feel. The lady lent me a spare pair of glasses until I found my in Glasgow. Breakfast is included in the price (which is rare thing) and has a nice range of foods. Great location as Glasgow Central is about 10-15 mins away on train.Rooms: Soooo loved the room, fire place, comfy Ned and decent pillows. Lovely garden out the backWalkability: Train station only a 5 min walk. Train takes about 10-15 mins to get into Glasgow Central

Room was clean but tired (chandelier hadn't been dusted in years). Never figured out how to get hot water. Sink faucet moved all around. Toilet paper holder disconnected on one side. Carpet worn. Mattress was probably most comfortable we've ever slept in. Despite being in a city, hotel very quiet. Did not have breakfast (had to get to airport). Innkeepers very nice. Recommended a fantastic Italian restaurant, Cardosi's, steps away. 10 minutes from airport. Despite cons, would stay there again.

Our stay at the Ashtree was everything we wanted the first night of our honeymoon to be. The accommodations were lovely, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located near several pubs and restaurants. And the staff were amazing! So friendly and welcoming - we even ran into one of the desk clerks while we were out for the night and she came over from her group of friends to give us recommendations of more places to check out! To Catherine, Anne, Thomas, and the whole Ashtree staff - thank you so much for creating such a lovely place to stay. My only regret is that we only had one night there! We?ll be sure to visit again.

The room was large and nice, the bathroom was also good. It's close to the airport, but the surrounding area isn't great. Good for a single night on the way to the airport but not longer.Rooms: Rooms were large and nice. Bathroom was also large and the shower hot.Food & drinks: Food was definitely sub par, I would eat elsewhere. They wouldn't seat us at the table until our food was literally already on the table. Very odd. We had a reservation, but they weren't prepared. We also called days ahead to let them know I'd need gluten free bread, but they didn't order it till the night before. We'd had breakfast and left before it arrived. The staff are very kind but also very under staffed.

A bit of distance from the airport but this b&b is quiet! A few blocks from the train station a bit of shopping on the high street. Paisley is going through a renewal so a bit of construction. Close to the SW University.

If you want Aircon and minibars, choose a Hilton. If you want old money class and personality by the truckload, this is for you. An adorable, slightly ramshackle oasis of calm in busy Paisley.Rooms: Churchill must have slept in rooms like these.

My mum and I stayed here on our last night in Paisley, leaving a lifetime behind (Both born and bred in Paisley). This was a place I'd often thought of staying out of sheer curiousity. The last time I was in the actual building was in the mid 1970s when it was my dad's accountant's office. It's been restored very sympathetically and authentically to its Georgian splendour. Our room was absolutely huge, very comfortable and absolutely spotless. The owners and the staff could not have been more helpful. We had dinner. Whilst it's not a huge menu what we had was delicious and well presented. There is a very well stocked whisky bar and a decent wine list too. Out the back is a large mature garden - a real hidden gem - where you can sit and enjoy a drink in the sunshine. People tend not to stay in a hotel in the place they live in. I'm very glad we did!

My mom, sister and I stayed here on our last night of an 11 day road trip around Scotland. We wanted to stay outside of Glasgow, in a quiet place and close to the airport. We fell in love with this place. The history of the building and the atmosphere is so perfectly Scottish. Maureen was a wonderful hostess and took care of us all evening. We had cocktails in the lounge and dinner at the restaurant and everything was fabulous. Our room was on the top level of the house and overlooked a church and cemetery. We all felt we were staying in a old castle! We loved our room and the view. This hotel has been updated, contrary to what a few other reviewers wrote. And the parts that are not updated are kept that way to maintain the historical aspect of the space and my family loved that part of it. The only thing to note is the top floor does have a very narrow winding staircase to climb which can be a bit dangerous for older folks. All in all, we felt this was the absolute most perfect place to stay during out last night in Scotland. A hidden gem for sure!
