My wife and I have been going to the Coalgate lately, and can't fault the food. Friday past was our last visit, and can't rate the food highly enough, first class.
Looking for some freshly cooked food, head to Ormiston.

Visited during the daytime midweek so it was quiet. I've been there at busier times too when there's more atmosphere. The tvs play sports channels but not loud. There's a separate pool and darts room. The prices are very reasonable.

great atmosphere,staff so friendly,we used to have what we called takeaway Friday, with the family, that's changed to Colgate Friday .

Love the coalgate so do the kids. Jack and rest of staff are great.. the food is amazing best bar/restaurant in the lothians!

First visit to The Coalgate and boy were we pleased, friendly staff nothing to much, only happy to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Food first class, long time since I've tasted chicken so moist, excellent all round. Difficult to fault the place, good value for money.One thing, but only a small thing, some background music would be nice, otherwise will be back very soon.
