Columba was in a great location and clean. A lovely hotel.Rooms: Our room was lovely. We had a lovely view over the harbour. Our room was clean and warm.Walkability: We were within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Oban is a lovely clean town.

The Columba Hotel is a Victorian built hotel situated by the harbour front on the North Pier, very handy if you are catching a ferry. Its central location makes shopping and enjoying the pubs and restaurants very convenient.It is a well run, very clean Hotel, the staff were friendly, giving good service with a smile, beds are comfortable, full English breakfast was spot on. ?My verdict of the Columba Hotel is this, if I was thinking of another stay at Oban I would not hesitate to book a room at The Columba Hotel ?

You get what you pay for. Though this hotel is in a fantastic location, and has a nice victorian exterior - we found our room to be shabby and dirty (see photos of sharp pin found in carpet, condom wrapper left under bed, and shabby light fixture). Aside from this, we did manage to get a parking spot right outside the lobby (off season) and the front desk attendant was very friendly.

It's an old hotel however staff are very pleasant and helpful. If you visit here be sure to take a phone charger as no USB point in bedroom we were in.All in all we enjoyed out stay here !

The reception was nice. Cosy rooms. The carpets needs to be changed. Issue with shower in one of the rooms we ordered. And overpriced in my opinion.

Very tired and dated. Only stopped as the car broke down and needed somewhere quickly to sleep. £113 is far too much for what we got especially when breakfast was not included in the price. Shower was rubbish and dead insects all over the blinds. Location was the only positive

Booked a sea view double for 3 nights For my son & myself as that?s the only type of room they had left for a wee fishing trip The place is in shocking disrepair where do I start Tiny uncomfortable double bed Dirty shoe box of a room dated furniture cobwebs hanging from the lights You could just about wash your big toe with the amount of water coming out of the shower head had to close the blinds when using the loo the towel radiator was a death trap Breakfast which was an extra £9.99 per person per day was awful Unfriendly staff And to top it all off the fire alarm went off in the early hours on two separate evenings having to evacuate the building for a time while the fire brigade checked things out false alarm on both occasions I bet the fire brigade are out to this place on a regular basis due to the old wonky fire alarm system Stay well clear unless your happy to stay in squalor.
