For highly rated boutique hotel the stay was very average. We were allocated a very small room so for two people it was very cramped, the bathroom was nicely redone but as is the case with so many old hotel renovations they had little space to work with. We found the front desk staff unfriendly and less than helpful. Checkout was 11 and no possibility to extend to the normal time of 12 which complicated our distillery tour in the morning. For the $$ I?d search out another property.

We stayed two nights at the Perle Hotel in Oban. The rooms were comfortable and nicely appointed. It is in a great location, very close to the rail station, Cal Mac ferry as well as downtown shopping and dining. The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was excellent. We also enjoyed drinks in the hotel bar. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a central location in Oban.

Excellent location right across the street from the harbor, several minutes walk to the ferries and the Oban distillery. Older classic building. Wonderful Scottish breakfast, pleasant staff, clean rooms although the sloping ceilings at the dormer windows provided scant head room. The only downer was the slow slow slow elevators. I found it faster to take the stairs. I'd stay here again.

A perfect retreat, right on the water with the perfect location. We loved our stay at the Perle! From the stylish and comfortable rooms with very comfy beds, to the excellent Baab restaurant and lounge - everything was wonderful. We had to extend our stay due to a ferry outage, and are so happy we did! We watched the sun set over the water from the outdoor patio, and loved being within a 5 minute walk from most of the local restaurants, pubs and attractions. The staff were exceedingly accommodating to our changing schedule, and were so helpful and sweet. Thank you, Perle Oban.

This is a smashing hotel which is right next to the CalMac terminal and all the wee cafes and things. The room was excellent and we?ve always liked the continental idea of ?two beds pushed together?. We had a part view of the harbour (room 202) which was good. We were also able to watch the school pipe band from our room which was great. The one complaint was the size of the shower. I?m not the sleek, handsome man or of yore but I?m also not gigantic, and the shower was a stupid small size. I do realise that there just isn?t the room to fit a large one but maybe a slight cost reduction would be in order for this particular room. Staff were great and the bar had a good ambience while the barmaid was terrific. I have put this review on Hotels.com but couldn't find it until now. Thanks Perle Oban you ?dun good?.

Had a lovely stay in this hotel.Room was a bit on the small side for the price but clean enough. The bar/lounge area very pleasant and comfortable. The only downside was the breakfast, it was really poor and they need to improve there.

Friendly, efficient staff, well-appointed rooms, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, and convenient location to all of Oban.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Perle in Oban as part of a two week trip to the UK. The location was great. It was walkable to most Major sites of interest and many restaurants . The hotel itself showed a little of it?s age but over all everything worked well. The major draw back for us Was the lack of AC and lack of good ventilation so the room was hot at night. A small fan was provided but it did not quite get the job done. There is a Buffett Breakfast provided with room but we preferred to walk to the local cafes. The Bar was a highlight. A nice selection of Wines and spirits presented in a comfortable setting both indoors and out. The real highlight was the service of the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. The stand outs were Kristy and Andrew at the front desk! We would defiantly recommend the Perle for a pleasant stay on the waterfront in Oban. John and Sarah

The Perle provided us with exceptional customer service both during and after our stay. The location is wonderful, as there is quite a lot to see and do right out your front door. Would highly recommend to anyone who is traveling through the Oban area!

Great place to stay in Oban, walking distance from many restaurants and shops as well as the ferry pier. Very nice amenities and lots of little touches. No laundry service but there is a local laundry who will pick up and return to this location. Would note there is a pub nearby and if you?re a light sleeper have the windows open in the evening it could be a little disturbing.

Our room faces toward the afternoon sun, and the temperature in our room grew to about 30°C degrees (85° F) each day, despite outside temperatures of about 21° degrees. The single window has a device embedded in the frame that prevents it from opening more than about 3 inches. So our extremely hot room has very little air movement with no cross ventilation, and no air conditioning. The hotel provides a small fan that barely moves air, and the cord is so short the fan cannot be placed in or by the window to help bring in fresh cool air.The front desk person could not give us an extension cord, or a larger fan with a longer cord. She said there was nothing that they could do about the high temperature in our room.Ok. So there is nothing I can do except write this very accurate, highly critical review. This was probably the worst hotel experience of my life. Thank you, Perle Oban.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff are very friendly and attentive to all your needs. There is no air condition which is normally not a problem. Since the hotel is located in the center of town it is very noisy when you open the windows. The lobby, bar and restaurant are nicely decorated. However, the rooms are in much need of an update. The chairs are dirty and stained. The carpeting in the entire hotel needs to be replaced. The rooms need to be painted and the beds are not very comfortable. I do think the rooms were clean so that made it bearable. I probably would not stay here again.

The location was impeccable. You were located within walking distances of many attractions. The hotel had one lift(elevator) and no air conditioning. My room was on the small size. I had to open the window to cool down the room but I had to put up with car noise and bugs coming and biting. The restaurant is Michelin rated.

My partner and I escaped the kids for the weekend and booked the Pearl Oban Hotel. On arrival we were greeted by Martina who was really friendly, professional and very helpful. We were upgraded to a lovely suite which had a sea view and had the perfect view of the sunset. The room was perfect for us, the bed was comfortable, had a coffee machine and was immaculately clean. Fans, heaters, spare blankets and even yoga mats were provided in the wardrobe if needed! Gorgeous Highland Soap Company shampoos, body wash, hand wash and hand creams with a complementary soap to take home which prompted me to go to their shop to buy some!! Only thing missing from this room was a bath but the shower was great. We can?t comment on the food as we did not eat here but we had some lovely cocktails at the bar which were reasonably priced. All the staff were friendly, the cleaner did a fantastic job and was also really friendly but a special shout out to Martina at reception! We are planning visiting the hotel again next year as this has been one of the best weekends we have ever had. Thank you!!

A really excellent place to stay in Oban, particularly if there is an onward journey to the islands planned or train trip. The free half hour spa session was most welcome and the room very comfortable - the Nespresso machine a lovely touch. Dinner at the restaurant was a bit disappointing, one main rather on the small side, another undercooked but our feedback was handled well by the management team. The evening light across the Firth of Lorn was magical.
