If you ever find yourself in Oakley with a craving for some good old fish and chips, look no further than this wee Oakley chippy. This place is a local legend, and for good reason. Here?s a humorous take on my recent visit:
Walking in is like stepping into a time machine that takes you back to the golden age of chippies ? where the fish is always fresh, the chips are always crispy, and the banter is always top-notch. The decor is delightfully retro, with a hint of ?we?ve been here forever and we?re not changing for anyone.?
The menu is a masterpiece of simplicity. Fish, chips, and a few other fried delights that you probably shouldn?t eat every day but will definitely want to. I ordered the classic fish and chips, and let me tell you, it was a revelation. The fish was so perfectly battered that I almost felt bad for eating it. Almost.
As I waited for my order, I couldn?t help but notice the eclectic mix of customers. From the local teenagers debating the merits of salt and vinegar versus just salt, to the elderly couple reminiscing about the good old days when a bag of chips cost a shilling, it was clear that this chippy is a beloved institution.
When my order was ready, I was handed a parcel of golden goodness wrapped in paper that seemed to have magical grease-repelling properties. The first bite was pure bliss ? the kind of bliss that makes you forget about calories and cholesterol. The chips were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. The fish was flaky and tender, with a batter that was light and crunchy.
But the real star of the show? The staff. They were friendly, efficient, and had a sense of humor that could rival any stand-up comedian. When I asked for extra tartar sauce, the server winked and said, ?Only if you promise to come back for more.? Challenge accepted.

This used to be the best chippy for miles.... What happened!!!I keep going back thinking they are just having an off day but I don't think so! Portion sizes are small, Prices have gone up and the fish was rubbery and the batter was chewy. Go to the other shop in Kincardine worth the extra mile or so... Very dissatisfied

To many times I get home and open my fish supper and it is lacking chips. So stingy on the chip . But not all the time. No consistency. Sorry but I think I will be going elsewhere from now on. Edit after meal. Omg this was not good. Fish is rubbish batter is rubbery a soggy I through this in the bin, it was so bad. Change of mind I will not be back. don't waste your money.

The worst fish supper we have ever had. Rubbery batter, grey fish, wafer thin crispy chips which were inedible. Staff not very friendly. Avoid at all costs.

Was apprehensive about trying the chip shop after reading the reviews but so pleased we decided to try for ourselves. Just had fish suppers and WOW the fish was amazing, fresh ,crispy batter with great chips.
