A nice experience all around. Everything was clean and tidy. Staff were nice. The food was good. I had my daily Irn Bru of course. An interesting location with some good sites. Nice gift shop too.

Mediocre

Had a meal here a few months ago and I can't say I was impressed. The queues were long as you go up to the same queue to order your food as to order coffee. I couldn't get a gluten free toastie as the gluten free options were very limited and the chips were as dry as a towel.

Went here for lunch on a rainy afternoon and loved it!
It was very busy despite the poor weather but managed to get a seat inside for 2 with no wait at around 2:30pm on a Saturday. The service was great, all very polite and quick. The food was amazing so tasty and fresh, with big portions! I had the fish and chips where the batter on the fish was so light and crispy, not greasy at all! And my mum had the soup and sandwich which she enjoyed. The cakes all looked incredible but we didn?t have any on our visit. All slightly pricey but it is a very touristy spot so on reflection it?s pretty fair.
Special mention to the toilets, all single roomed toilets which were so spacious, clean and modern! Very surprised walking into them as it felt very luxurious, the provided hand cream smells divine!

an exceptional place to eat and drink. food aplenty on your plate, read the menu carefully as you get more than first impression from the menu. we ended up with so much food, we took some away for later. prices are reasonable, staff were really lovely and friendly. lovely relaxing atmosphere. gift shop attached, gelatier too. close to the canal for walks, or a canal cruise. all amenities excellent. disabled parking abd access available, all on one level, too. dogs welcome, but they also have a dog free area, which we used.

Arriving here after a long walk was a godsend, my party had the crispy tuna sandwich with the soup add-on and let me tell you, The Soup Was Amazing!!! A warm hug of pure love and care from the inside of my mouth. It was the highlight of my day. Also there were cute highland cows nextdoor.

Little expensive for lunch, £35.05 for two, but we did overdo it, light dinner tonight for sure. Absolutely worth every penny, best chips & cheese I've ever bought. Tuna sandwich and Chicken Shawarma panino (panini is the plural of panino just showing how stupid and ignorant us Brits are - can i have two loaves of breads please?!)
And an overindulgent caramac cookie for later.
Staff pleasant, cafe very nice, decor spectacular.

Hats off to chef Stuart for the BEST meal we've had this far! The restaurant is lovely, the hardworking staff (Gill, Isla and Dylan,) are warm, welcoming and efficient. The food was EXCELLENT! Also, I should add, the prices are fair for generous portions. Even if you're not going on a boat trip, the alone café is worth the ride.
What we ate: Smoked salmon salad with beets (superbnot too salty or dry). MAC and Cheese (excellent!). Steak sandwich with cheddar and rocket. Ham and cheese quiche.

This is a very good cafe with good quality food - I do wish they would sort their service out though.
I?ve visited on two separate occasions and am baffled at the way they have the ordering set up. One person taking orders for the whole place, one person making drinks orders. Queues are long, particularly before sailings so beware if you are hoping to eat before a tour. With just a little re- organisation this could be an excellent cafe.

Very pleasant cafe and gift shop. Big tasty portions. We had quiche salad with chips and coleslaw, and a baked potato with cheese and beans. Very friendly staff. Busy but well-organized. Very quick food delivery. Good toilets (unisex cubicles each with their own, which is great to see).

Enjoyed a delicious lunch at An Talla yesterday before boarding a cruise on Loch Ness. The staff in the restaurant gift shop were so wonderful and friendly. A special thank you to Dilys who went out of her way to reunite my daughter with her lost mobile phone. We will forever be grateful to you!

I've had good experiences here in the past but my latest visit was very disappointing. I can only imagine the food quality and service have slipped because there's no requirement to make an effort during tourist season, they're going to be busy regardless.

Arrived at reception area for seating at 3.55 pm, front of house staff disappeared into the kitchen only to come out at 4 pm to say restaurant closes at 4 pm .
Have eaten there on numerous occasions but won?t return after this recent experience.

They don't serve food until noon! The boat tour ended at 1120 & we were told about the Cafe to have lunch at. But they were CLOSED for lunch. Only serving tea and coffee!
