had a weekend away at Balavil, charming hotel with cosy bar and restaurant. service from all staff impeccable. really talk to the guest and recommends places to go to. their restuarant serves very good food. we had dinner there and the starter haggis pakoras were absolutely delicious. easy drive to aviemore and other places of interest. definitely worth a visit back

First rate standards to customer service and food quality. Booked a table in advance, asking for vegan options. Restaurant is ahead of the local competition by having a vegan menu, well done. As it was a special occasion I asked for non-alcoholic Prosecco but was not on their list of drinks. They went the extra mile and volunteered to purchase some especially for our meal. A very rare and wonderful attitude from them and an amazing experience for us. Food was delicious and very fairly priced. Will definitely be going again.

My partner arranged dinner here for us on valentines weekend. Warm welcome on arrival, and they knew who we were making us feel extra special. My partner has emailed asking if they could provide non alcoholic prosecco (nozecco) this is not something that they usually stock, but they ordered some in especially! The place itself is lovely, decorated in traditional Scottish country hotel decor with a modern twist (looks freshly refurbished). There is a pool here too. Staff are friendly and professional, and the service was excellent. Very impressed with the vegan menu and even more so wiry the food which was delicious. Honestly, some of the best vegan food we have had. We didn't stay here as we were staying in a nearby village, but I wouldn't hesitate to book here in the future. A true gem of a place in a stunning location. Try it for yourself.

Just lovely. Staff were very friendly. We didn?t get to try the pool. The fresh salmon for dinner was tasty. breakfast hit the spot. The drive off the A9 is beautiful.Happy to recommend and will come back when we are this way.

I'm giving top marks as the only thing I can fault is that the guy in the room next to mine, had to have been a world champion snorer. Anyway, the hotel has plenty of parking, it's easy to find, has good rooms, a very welcoming bar and helpful staff. They even sent my clothes to me that I had left hanging in the wardrobe. If you are looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay then I highly recommend this hotel. I will certainly call them on my next visit to the town.

Impeccable friendly service. Breakfast buffet was superb. One night had dinner which was absolutely delicious. Only slight disappointment was being in extension at back of hotel however room was immaculate.

Lovely stay at the Balavil. They were very accommodating for us as we?d turned up late and hadn?t booked food, but they found room for us. Comfortable rooms and very pleasant buffet breakfast with all the usual trimmings. Added bonus of some local live music in the evening.

Had a lovely meal here. Had the spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce, and it was lovely although a little bland. Staff were super friendly and polite. Bathrooms very clean too.

The staff here were all so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant and bar area are very nice. Also check out the other area behind the bar which has live sport, a pool table, and darts. Our room looked basic but it was comfortable, the WiFi was good and the shower was incredibly powerful. We didn't mind how the room looked as it was just a place to rest our heads after a long day in the Cairngorms.
