Went for lunch. My mums meal was sent back twice cos it was cold. We didn't pay for it in the end. Mine and my husbands was warm. Very Disappointing

Had a wonderful weekend with family at Ravelston House. We were very grateful to Vinnie for his kindness and making sure my son and my neice were well fed at breakfast times as they are usually very fussy. Also a big thank you to Azizzi who is an absolute gem for being so helpful. We had a meal for 8 of us on the Saturday and the food was lovely and the ladies who served us were wonderful. I highly recommend Ravelston House.

The Ravelston was an excellent restaurant when it was privately owned,now that is owned by one of the big chains not the same. Went there lunchtime last week very disappointed. It took 25 minutes for a simple dish of pasta, the staff where more busy having a chat with each other.the meal was rubbish and I said so at the time. Being midweek it was almost empty. I used to go there when it was privately owned now I will never go back

Had meal in pub area as we had our dog, meal was delicious, service was excellent. The wall seats were all marked & needed good deep clean, was in 2 minds whether to sit on them. Toilets x 2 beautiful but far too small could hardly move in them but wash basin area was huge ? Didn't make sense as wasted area.

Went for lunch with 4 members of my family, we sat in the bar area, seats were really dirty, place could do with a revamp. Food was disgusting, we ordered 4 two courses and 1 main course. It was half fish and chips, mines was luke warm, one member got a tiny bit of fish, wouldn't feed a sparrow. The person behind the bar was too busy stuffing her face and having a soft drink. Will definitely never be back it's a dump.

Over the years, I have had mixed opinions on this venue. However, after my last experience, I will never be back!!!
Three of us decided to have dinner on a Wednesday evening before setting off to a fringe show in Edinburgh. Two of us ordered steak with fries and one ordered macaroni with fries. The place was quiet when we ordered and after a 30 minute wait we were advised that the fryer wasn't working! The assistant manager advised us that we could only have mashed potatoes with our meals (whoever heard of mashed potato with macaroni?) Anyway, we agreed to have the alternative. After waiting over 1 HOUR, I asked the assistant manager, "Where is our meals?" He replied, "I promise you it'll be just five minutes more!"
After a further 15 minutes, I decided to leave and asked for a refund. Then miraculously, our meal turned up after several other groups who had arrived after us had received their meals. My party had left with the refund, but it resulted in us being late for our show.
I will never return to this place that can only be described as a poor 'Fawlty Towers!'
The staff are all miserable, who are not very welcoming and it is no wonder they have a high staff turnover!

We stayed here for 3 nights, from Thursday evening to Sunday. The staff was very friendly, the food was okay. The first night we slept well, it was very quiet. A party room is also used at weekends. It's a shame that we didn't know this in advance because even after 12 o'clock at night there was still a lot of noise and nuisance from party goers who came into the sleeping area.

Lovely and cozy room. Great breakfast. Would give them 5 stars, but the music downstairs was a major disturbance when trying to sleep. I?m a musician and I can sleep through a lot but the thumping of bass could be heard through the walls. Perhaps something that should be more explicitly communicated before booking.
Room for improvement. ;)

Very good nice spot for transport in and out the city , good for the kids and partys meals are great, but plenty fresh air being in mussleburgh. mind mussleburgh day at the races fantastic day out.

A little far from the castle where we were going to see the tattoo but just don't take the wrong bus Don't take bus 26 The stop is in front of the hotel Or prefer Uber Pretty Scottish room and very good meal taken in the pub atmosphere The service is lovely especially Ewan. And very generous breakfast

I had a beautiful stay at Ravelston House. The staff were excellent, especially Winny at breakfast and the assistant manager. Winny was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and suggested many great places for us to visit. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
