I had a very disappointing experience at this B&M store in Musselburgh. I was browsing the book section and initially picked up four books but decided not to purchase them right away as I wanted to return with my daughter to let her choose. Suddenly, a staff member approached me and questioned me repeatedly about the books, despite my explanation that they were at the till. I felt accused and uncomfortable, as if I had done something wrong.
When I brought this to the attention of the till manager, he simply said he couldn?t speak to her as he was serving other customers. This lack of accountability and dismissiveness was disheartening.
As someone visiting from abroad (India), I was genuinely shocked and disappointed by the way I was treated. I expect better professionalism and courtesy from customer service, especially in a reputed retail chain like B&M. I hope the store management takes this seriously and ensures better treatment for all customers, regardless of where they come from.

I love a wee rake here, staff are fab too. Paula, I'm sure, is usually on the tills. Don't actually know her but she's a friendly, smiley wee lass. I always buy more than I went for. It's a woman's thing I'm sure.

This is a handy bargain shop that's well located in the heart of Musselburgh. It has all the usual fare you'd expect. Lots of junk and long shelf life foods. They do have a small selection of fresh items that look pretty dubious, and likely a waste of space given that Musselburgh has an Aldi and Lidl that provide ample budget options in the fresh produce aisles.The store is looking a little old, but the staff are friendly, and I don't think I've ever seen a shelf that is not near fully stacked. My main issue is the awkward layout where they've blocked off access to the till areas from the 1st 2 aisles, but it's a very small quibble.If you need to stack your kitchen shelves or buy some household essentials this is a great shop with great prices in a great location.
