Sadly the hotel had been taken over by a wedding and the cafe was closed. So never sampled anything.

We finally made it to the Grant Arms in Monymusk after talking about going for over a year, and it was definitely worth the drive from Aberdeen.
The Sunday roast here is genuinely fantastic, easily one of the best I've had (and I've had many). The food rivals what you'd expect from a Rosette or Michelin-recognised establishment, but with that proper village pub feel you don't find very often anymore.
When our serving board arrived, it was generously laden with perfectly roasted seasonal vegetables, beautifully prepared meats, and all the trimmings. The portions were incredibly generous ? despite our best efforts, we had to concede defeat and happily took the leftovers home.
This Sunday roast was nothing short of incredible, especially considering the price. We're already talking about going back to try some of their other dishes, or else challenge ourselves to finish another Sunday roast in one sitting.
Couple of important notes ? you absolutely need to book ahead as they get busy. Also, they don't serve alcohol but do offer BYOB. If you're travelling via Westhill, the BP station there has one of the best cold beer selections you'll find in the northeast, along with a decent wine selection ? perfect for picking up something on the way.

No longer a hotel but we went for a Friday night evening meal and it was fantastic. Lovely food and great service. Adapted one dish for my vegan son with no worries. No licence so bring your own alcohol.

Best Sunday Roast you will ever eat! Presented beautifully on a board with a selection of meats, seasonable vegetables roasted to perfection with many more trimmings all done to a Michelin standard. But at a competitive price with a local warm atmosphere. Don?t sleep on this place! Remember to BYOB

Stopped in for coffee n scone. People nice, sat inside as courtyard looked a bit shabby. Nice enough but at expensive end for those basics.

First ever visit here today and the blueberry and lemon drizzle cake was excellent - fresh, tasty and beautiful to look at! Great coffee too and so lovely to have the option of sitting outside in the sunny courtyard.

A wee gem in the village of Monymusk. Great coffee, cake and service. On a sunny day, sit in the courtyard where you can watch the swallows fleet around and sing.
Food & drinks: I really enjoyed my tart that I had and the coffee was tasty and not bitter.
