Should be zero stars. It went out of business two weeks ago and Booking.com took my full payment two days ago?

Absolutely Appalling ? Ruined Our Holiday
Our experience at St Cyrus Village Inn was shockingly bad. Upon arrival, we found the room in an unacceptable and unhygienic state:
The towels were dirty
The room smelled strongly of musty smell.
The bedsheets were crumpled and clearly not fresh, and looked as though they had already been used.
Worse still, despite being promised that the place would be open at our agreed arrival time, it was completely closed when we arrived. We were left waiting outside with no communication, no help, and no one to contact.
Because of the poor conditions and the poor service, we made the decision to leave immediately ? we didn't stay even one night. Our holiday was effectively ruined on the first day.
We have received no response whatsoever from the owners or from Booking.com, and we feel incredibly disappointed and abandoned in this situation. This is by far the worst experience we've had with any accommodation, and we strongly advise others to avoid it.

Whilst visiting the area with our motorhome we called in for dinner and as it transpired was the local quiz night.
After an absolute delicious dinner we were asked if we wanted to join the locals in the quiz.
The food is very much pub grub but you won?t go home hungry and will still be licking your lips the next morning.
The steak pie options are to die for.
We have never met such a welcoming group who immediately made us feel at home.
Yes, some areas of the hotel are a bit dated but it does have that ?village pub feel? which you can see just works.
The staff were brilliant but must make a special mention to Dee Dee who worked tirelessly with a smile and watched everything to make sure guests were welcomed and tentatively looked after .. great job, it didn?t go unnoticed.
Best to book for dinner, if we?re back in the area we?ll head straight there.
Thank you and no ? we unfortunately didn?t win the quiz!

Had lunch and a few drinks including good coffees. Wonderful chatty service
April 2025 by They speak words And I laugh.
We are spending the 2nd night of two.
The room is just perfect for our short break.
The bedroom was cold upon arrival, but, going down for a meal and a few drinks, the room was very warm.
I can't commend the staff. Very friendly, always a smile and very helpful and professional.
The meals we ordered were professionally presented on the plate and by staff.
Not only the staff being friendly, but we met some of the locals who were very chatty.
The decor is of paintings and historical Scottish inventors in the bar area add to the place.
The location is ideal for the beaches of St Cyrus and Montrose.
Worth a night or two over.

It was really lovely to stay here as it?s also dog friendly. Our dog was given a drink and treats as soon as he entered the room. The staff was all friendly and welcoming. Definitely will stay there again.

A great pub stopover.
Stayed here for one night whilst working in the area.
Nothing at all to complain about. Staff were really friendly and made you feel welcome. Food was good,
Both evening meal and breakfast.
At the time of my visit the accommodation was being redecorated which gave the place a more modern feel.
Parking for the Inn was around the rear,
With approximately parking for 10:15 vehicles.
I wouldn't have a problem stopping here again.

Wow! Have just returned home after a fantastic meal out at the St Cyrus Village Inn Restaurant. I had the Sirloin Steak and my Wife had the Steak Pie and both meals were easily 11 out of 10! I knew I was in for a treat when my steak was put down in front of me from the smell. And I was not wrong - it was absolutely delicious! It?s been years since I?ve tasted steak that good! We both had dessert too and it was equally delicious. We can?t wait to visit again and are more than happy to highly recommend the restaurant.
PS.Great service too - compliments to our waiter (and of course the Chef!!)

I live locally & eat here about twice a month. Always an excellent meal to be had. The menu is varied (without being OTT) accomodating GF & veggie diets, the food fresh, hot, tasty, reasonably priced, & most efficiently served by a smiling gentleman.
However, this week FOUR separate occasions have taken me there to eat (& one one for a pint of coke when I nipped in to use the WiFi for an important file to be viewed!)
Each time the fare has been consistently GRAND!
We are so VERY lucky to have this great pub close by - it really is a HUGE asset to this community!!!
