This is the first time I've been, I've friends who live in the village. The atmosphere was great and the locals make you feel welcome. There seems to be a good range of drinks and I could see that they offered food too.

What a warm welcoming place, brilliant helpful, friendly staff. Great selection of beers. Miles away from anywhere in beautiful countryside, if you are ever traveling through Moniaive, stop off and call in. I will definitely be back in the future although I live a good three hours away. Highly recommended and I'm sorry I can only give it five stars.I've been back again out of season, I was staying in the village in my van over Christmas and had a wander round, including a visit to Striding Arches. This place has a pulse, I had a drink with some of the locals in tha bar and to be honest, you couldn't find a more welcoming bunch of people. Again, the staff here just couldn't do enough for you, what a lovely place, I'm gonna be back more often.

I can't rate the place as a hotel, but as a restaurant it wasn't that great, it is located at the start of the village and in walking distance to majority of the village and the service was great but it felt like we were pressured into getting the fish and chips and the chips didn't have much flavour but the rest of the food was quite nice, we also attempted to attend the brunch and decided to go to the George as we arrived 10mins after opening time and it wasn't open, we rang the ring doorbell but no one replied

A good convivial bar with occasional live music

Pretty poor experience. We asked for a menu and were told they only had an app...not sure why in a small local pub this is easier than a menu, especially as we were the only people in for food. On that note, food is pretty terrible for the price, bit like school dinners and not very appetising. We would have said something at the pub, but no one asked, or even cleared the plates. Nice wee village but I'd avoid this place, its this kinda food and service which makes you realise why Weatherspoons are stomping all over local pubs!

A nice, friendly pub. Stopped here for lunch. Prices where ok for what you received. Jacket potato and cheese. Would stop by again.

Been a customer for 10 plus years but this place has went downhill fast. Will never be back with current owner. Tim is extremely rude and walks away when asked about his terrible attitude. Going with how quiet the place was other local people are obviously taking there custom elsewhere as well.

It seems to me that the buzz and excitement of being the main hub of festival entertainment in Moniaive has superceded the basics of providing decent customer service. Staged events and musical gigs in the Craigdarroch is the order of the day and to hell with courtesy and politeness towards paying customers. The young female waitress, Grace is particularly guilty. Rude and obnoxious. We won?t be back.

As a result of Covid, only outside seating is available, mainly in the pub garden at the rear of the pub. The staff are very friendly and a strict Covid protocol is in place. There is a very relaxed atmosphere in the pub, with sporting events being shown on a large projector outside. A wide range of drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic are available. The food menu is surprisingly varied, with everything from pub grub to Chinese take away style food available. Well worth a visit on a hot summer day.

My wife and I stayed here during the annual Folk Festival in 2018. The place, and village, were buzzing with music and laughter. Although very busy, Tim took the time to welcome us and we had a great weekend. The pub is a rough diamond, a little bit of tidy up needed, but the room was warm, and facilities sufficient. We even got breakfast each morning.
