The people that run the site are not exactly guest orientated.

The Green Frog campsite in Moffat is a fantastic place to stay. It offers a range of facilities such as a cafe, seasonal garden center, fishery, soft play area, and pet food supplier. The campsite is fully open for motorhomes and tourers, and they are only accepting small tents for 2023. The newly constructed toilet and shower block is spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. They go the extra mile to make sure that the guests have a comfortable stay. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. The campsite is pet-friendly and wheelchair accessible. They offer a fantastic array of soups, sandwiches, meals, vegetarian, and vegan dishes at their cafe. The Green Frog campsite is nestled in the beautiful countryside of Moffat. It provides an ideal location for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The campsite offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys. You can wake up to the sound of birds chirping and enjoy the fresh air. There are plenty of walking trails nearby where you can explore the natural beauty of the area. The campsite is well-maintained with spacious pitches for tents and caravans. The pitches are level and have electric hook-ups available. The site has excellent facilities including clean toilets, hot showers, and a laundry room. There is also a well-stocked shop on-site where you can buy essentials. The Green Frog campsite has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are always on hand to help with any queries or requests. They are knowledgeable about the local area and can provide recommendations for things to see and do.Overall, I would highly recommend the Green Frog campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable camping experience in Moffat. Whether you?re a seasoned camper or new to camping, you?ll find everything you need for a memorable stay at this wonderful campsite.

It is sad to say we had high expectations of this site however when we arrived yesterday I was unable to empty our toilet cassette because the stench from the Elsan was so bad I could not go near it , and the smell from it came over to our motorhome . The Elsan was just a 3 ft diameter hole and full of human waste . There did not appear to be any waste management . We had to leave the site this morning without emptying our cassette. We have just travelled around France Spain and the NC500 this week and never had such an experience . Unfortunately there were no staff around to share this experience. Would I go back probably not as I am sure the staff must have been aware of the problem based on the stench . Other issues I think they should update their website advising that you have to pay for the showers £1 for 4 mins in these Cashless times not many carry coins. As a fly fisherman they are having a laugh £22 for one fish caught , clever management they buy the fish food then get people to buy the fish food to feed the fish , so killing two birds with one stone get the fish food paid for and save workers having to feed them ?

Positives, it is convenient stop off on the way up the M74, access is easy as the whole site is flat. It is cheap, we paid £17.50 for a pitch with electric although two weeks later on our return it was £18.00. Toilets are clean, 2 male 2 female, although unfortunately shower and toilet are combined so if two people are showering and you want the loo not all is lost though because if it is during the Green Frog's cafe their toilets are open. The cafe is all right but my wife and I weren't wowed by the offerings. It is a reasonable walk into Moffat and there are plenty of eateries. Downsides, those people who said it is a lovely site!! It is a gravel carpark, perfectly adequate for overnighting. There is a green area that takes around 7 units and the only area that allows awnings, which would be more pleasant for a longer stay. I don't appreciate on booking in a long lecture on the site rules and the dire consequences if they are broken, it sets you off on the wrong foot. The barrier is obviously somewhat problematic as we were given very stern instructions that it is our responsibility to ensure no one tailgates so you are expected to stop block the road and wait until the barrier was down. The barrier took some time to descend by the way. Final downside and most importantly we felt the units were all too far close together. This was not a case of cramming extra people in the pitches are all very clearly marked. My estimate was less than 12' making the whole area a serious fire risk if any accidents were to occur. It is because of this that we won't be using the Green Frog site again

Great handy site for Motorhome or touring caravan. Very reasonable and great location for the town.Nice café/garden centre. Fishing permits available.Just lacks maybe small pots and pans washing area; but knit picking really. All the other amenities available for fresh water, waste water disposal etc.

No longer a good stop over if traveling to, or from Scotland. We've been coming here for 6 years. This time the new booking rules have ruined that. The traffic was terrible coming up, I phoned and emailed to say we were not going to make the 7pm arrival time and could we (as we had in the past) please have the barrier code. We had an email back telling me to ring the duty manager when we arrived, however if it's after 7pm we can't come in. This was hugely inconvenient as we had to find another site to take us at such short notice. I emailed the next day asking if we could use our booking for the return trip. Nobody bothered to respond to me.Whilst I do understand that they are a business and need to make a profit, I'm so disappointed that we were 32 minutes too late to stay at the Green Frog, and even more disappointed that nobody bothered to respond to my email the next day. It's such a shame, we won't be coming back again. It's a poor way to treat loyal customers.

(Translated by Google) Terrible, never felt so watched! There are more rules than anything else! If you want to go to the water you have to go through reception and if you're unlucky, you have to go right back! The boss has her eyes everywhere! We will definitely not go there again!(Original)Schrecklich, habe mich noch nie so beobachtet gefühlt!

First time camping in campervan was very dissappointed all round. Was told hadto be there for5 or no access yet others was told 7 and onwards .Went to cafe at 4.45 as they shut at 5 to buy two teas and ask could they fill thermos cups with hot water as I explained our gas ran out 4 days earlier and when we went to exchange bottle apparently don't do 4.5 bottles anymore and 7too big,and he said he'd cleaned up so I pointed out there was15 mins left before closing time so just asked for the hot water and yet again he refused because he had wiped down Very unhelpful and very rude! Also having paid for hook up you had to put money in a slot for a shower!!!I came across his wife next morning she seemed more friendly, but I would not stay there again.
