I love this place. The grounds are beautiful for walking round, with benches to sit and the donkeys are just the best creatures.The staff/volunteers are super knowledgeable and always up for a chat and give information on the animals.

A fabulous place to visit. The donkeys are amazing. The staff, many of who are volunteers I think are so friendly and knowledgeable about each donkey. I sponsored a donkey for my sister and she was so excited to meet Dougal.

We took our 2 granddaughters yesterday, we were amazed how many Donkeys were there, a great charity, and very helpful caring staff, a lovely place for adults or children, even have some miniature Donkeys and some other animals. Highly recommended for an afternoon out.

Just been to the Open Day at Scottish Borders Donkey Sanctuary and we had an awesome time!What this group of volunteers do for all these donkeys is truly amazing and they all deserve our support. Special praise must go to Jamie who was so helpful, understanding and knowledgeable.

Was at the donkey sanctuary in Melrose today, and what a fabulous day it was. Feeding and seeing all the donkeys was just magical. The staff were wonderful, very knowledgeable. Well worth a visit.

??????I had the most wonderful time at the Scottish Donkey Sanctuary in St Boswells. Not only are the donkeys incredibly well-cared for and loved, but the staff are warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their mission. The picturesque surroundings offer the perfect backdrop for a peaceful day out, and the connection between visitors and the animals is genuinely heartwarming. A must-visit for families, animal lovers, or anyone looking for a serene escape!?

Wasn't what I expected..It'd have been useful to have had some info about the donkeys more than their names.. which was hard to decipher given that they mostly look alike..There was nobody keeping an eye out where the animals were to make sure both humans and donkeys were behaving..They're very strong when they know they're being fed 1 cup of pellets your given in a bowl with a handle for entry..Other cups children's plastic IKEA cup size donkey food £1 per cup after..Wasn't that clear where to go some signs we guessed.. rightly..Good parking a few for disability cars..Only cold drinks not sure if there were crisps... but there were a few picnic tables...Shop could have been better stocked.Very nice lad ~ First aiderWho literally had to empty his first aid box to temper blood flow when the outside loo's door I was using to wash my hands after feeding & petting animals.. on a spring, took a massive chunk of skin from my heel ankle...Lots of mess...I'd be inclined to either light it inside the makeshift loo so you can see what you're doing or don't have spring doors..Especially with kids!Was lovely being able to see the rescues...Would be good to know their history how they came to be there..A lot of bullying between them for food.. nipping and kicking..They're very strong..Day was dry.. sunshine.. Still need wellies though ..Were a lot of families & kids there...It has a lot of potential to make more money to provide for these lovely animals...All young volunteers I think..It was a nice afternoon for family after my accident I spent the rest in the car mopping up lol...
