One to add to the list when visiting Ayr. Will definitely be making a return visit. Food was excellent, good quality and very inexpensive.

This was a little gem of a place. The rooms were really lovely and very well maintained obviously it has been recently decorated and furnished because it was very comfortable. We enjoyed an evening meal, I had the vegetarian haggis lasagne and my wife had the egg soufflé and we also had garlic bread and some seasonal veg. This was very tasty. Next morning, the breakfast is very very nice and the ladies were a really lovely and friendly. On the door on the way in we saw a hotel rating of 8.8 from some of the online travel agencies would agree that is definitely 8.8 or higher for sure this was really lovely stay here.

Unfortunately, the bar is not dog friendly. So sadly you lost customers who would have spent the evening enjoying your hospitality.

Took a drive for dinner with the other half. Great place. Food was on point and lovely relaxing atmosphere. Staff where all lovely and let us enjoy our meal without lots of it eruptions. Fillet steak was massive and cooked to perfection. Very reasonable prices too. Will be back

Chicken Cushions with Curried Batter ? A Must-Try at The Black Bull!
Tried the *chicken cushions with curried batter* at The Black Bull and was really impressed. The chicken was tender with a light, crispy batter packed full of curry flavor?something different and really tasty. It came beautifully presented on a bed of fresh slaw with a creamy dip on the side.
The only slight downside was the portion size?it could?ve been a bit bigger?but overall, it was still great value for money. The price was very reasonable, and the taste more than made up for it.
Highly recommended if you're after something affordable, flavorful, and just a little different from the usual pub fare.

After being out with the family seen this a decided to pop in for food, it was so nice inside and the staff were friendly. We did the three courses for £19.95 and we were not disappointed the food was VERY NICE indeed

Lovely hotel, room was very comfortable and clean. The food in the restaurant in the evening was delicious, as was breakfast the next morning. Would recommend to anyone.

We fortunate to stay at the black bull tarbolton. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and have everything you need.They have just been redone and they've done to a high standard.
On arrival we were introduced to Laura she was a absolute joy.She was professional and friendly and couldn't do enough for us.We took our dog with us and although dogs are allowed in hotel their not allowed in bar or restaurant
When we went down for dinner,it was a set menu but the choices were excellent.My hubby got bacon and cheese terrine and I got cheese soufflé both were excellent but the terrine was to die for.For main I got steak and ale pie, the meat just melted in your mouth.Hubby got home made burger topped with haggis,again it was amazing really tasty.For dessert I got sticky toffee pud with ice cream.I managed most of it and hubby ate the rest,it was so good I could have ate more if I hadn't been so full.The portion sizes are quite large but because the food is so good you can't help eating it all.Our compliments to the chef.All in all I would highly recommend this lovely hotel whether it to stay or just eat you won't be disappointed
