Staying at Doune with Rebecca and Andrew was the highlight of our stay in Scotland. While remote, this place has felt like our home for a few days, thanks to a wonderful welcome. While Rebecca's food will make feel amazingly joyful, Andrew's stories and discussions will make you learn something everyday.Doune's history and the way it is handled now are amazing.

Amazing personalised service to give us the best holiday possible in spectacular scenery. Nothing was too much trouble - even a dawn lift up a sea loch, with breakfast served on the boat, so we could climb a remote Munroe while the weather allowed.

Having travelled extensive and stayed in amazing places I can honestly say that Doune Knoydart is up there with one of the very best travel experiences ever. It is a really special place thanks in no small part to the attention to detail that Andrew and Rebecca apply to every aspect. From the personal boat transfers on Gripper (mark 2) with seals, dolphins and even Minke whale spotting, to the locally sourced and expertly prepared meals that Rebecca churns out, including packed lunches with fresh baked goods - welcomed after a long trek, to the shared dinner table which is a lovely way to get to know other guests and, in our case, make new friends, to the fire pit which Andrew lit just so that we could enjoy the sunset without being cold or pestered by midges, to the general knowledge and expertise of the area imparted by Andrew and genuine interest in what we all wanted from the holiday. An unforgettable experience and we will definitely be returning soon.

Fantastic trip. The whole Knoydart area is a stunning wilderness. Our stay at Doune capped off a great break with Andrew providing boat access to some of the UKs remotest mountain walks. The food at Doune was home cooked and delicious and Rebecca and Andrew are terrific hosts making everyone feel welcome. They go out of their way to individually adapt to the itineraries of their guests giving it a very personal feel. The setting for Doune is truly stunning and the view across to Skye at sunset coupled with spotting an Otter on the beach made it pretty special. The antidote to crowded all inclusive holidays, don't hesitate.

A wonderful 5 star stay in the most perfect location , where the scenery is stunning & the only noises are the gentle lapping of waves and the sound of a cuckoo. The beds are super -comfortable and the food sublime. Rebecca is an amazing cook who produces varied breakfasts , a hearty pack up lunch and excellent evening meals . The vegetarian night has to be one of the best I?ve had. Both Andrew & Rebecca are brilliant, friendly & helpful hosts who go way beyond ? the extra mile? to ensure that their guests have a great time.. Loved every second ! Ken & Mel Langley

Absolutely fantastic experience this week! Stunning scenery, extremely helpful and friendly hosts who bend backwards to help. The food is incredible, Rebecca an excellent cook who put so much energy into thinking up new dishes. The combination of herbs and spices makes you just savour every mouthful! The highlights of the week were a boat trip on Loch Nevis, the seafood platter and the wonderful people we met during the week, due to the communal dining and recreation room. Thankyou, Rebecca and Andrew, for your untiring efforts to make us feel welcome! You are really special!

A wonderful place to stay in a magical location. Rebecca is a great cook and all the meals we had were amazing, Andrew has enormous amounts of local knowledge and will advise you on the best walking routes to suit any level of experience or capability from tough wilderness treks across awe inspiring ridges and summits to more gentle strolls beside glourious remote lochs. His boat can get you into places that are totally inaccessible by other means and he opens up this remote and beautiful landscape to adventurous people of all ages and abilities. Best of all is the relaxed communal spirit they facilitate and the friends you will make among other guests. You want want to leave but you will want to return.

(Translated by Google) This lodge is an absolutely extraordinary place with an indescribable atmosphere. The secluded location in Scotland's last wilderness allows for excellent walks on the Knoydart Peninsula. The hosts of the Doune Stone Lodges are very welcoming and passionate about what they do. The food was very tasty and varied every day. The direct view of the sea and the surrounding mountains and islands is wonderfully relaxing. You are surrounded by beautiful nature and with a bit of luck you can also see deer, whales, otters and other animals in the wild. We definitely want to come back. There are more impressions on our blog and the associated YouTube channel "Weltdiscoveren Reiseblog".(Original)Diese Lodge ist ein absolut außergewöhnlicher Ort mit einer unbeschreiblichen Atmosphäre. Having visited Knoydart a number of times I knew the rest of our group of ten who had not visited before would not be disappointed. Dolphins seen on two outings, otters and amazing scenery particular when taking boat trips to the bottom of Loch Hourn & Loch Nevis. Our stay at Doune was all we could wish for with some of our group staying in the Stone Lodges and others in Doune Bay Lodge. All dined in the restaurant with excellent food and an ever changing menu. Well looked after by Rebecca, Andrew and their team. Added extras with Wallace playing Scottish Music on his cello and the well known author Alexander McCall Smith and his wife sailing in for dinner. The signed copies of his book which he passed around were very well received particularly one of our group is currently reading his books in a Book Club. Mindful we must now sort out dates to revisited next year if we wish to enjoy another Doune, Knoydart adventure.
