We were passing by Sunday, so glad we went in for lunch, haggis tatties and neeps omg the best I have tasted, steak pie was also fantastic, we will be back. ?????

This being our local I booked it for my brother in law and husbands birthday meal. Was disappointed, food okay but service poor. After sitting 20 minutes with dirty plates and no drinks I had to go and ask for the table to be cleared and for another round of drinks also had to ask for the dessert menu. The staff were not very attentive even although the main restaurant only had six other customers. The restaurant was very uncomfortably hot.

Had a great lunch yesterday in the Longniddry Inn in the lovely new bar area. What a transformation. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, and even allowed us to take a cake for a birthday celebration. Brilliant addition to the village.

We live in Newcastle and I've been here now on 3 occasions on my way home from Scotland.
The Haggis, Neeps and tatties - oh my lord - amazing
I love this place and the staff are amazing.
Can't wait for my next visit.

I got my food and it was uncooked and my haggis was cold me and my fiancé now were coming out to celebrate instead we got cold uncooked food the staff seemed very rushy but I will be saying I will not be going again as I am very upset and so is my fiancé would not recommend it ruined a very special night

We ordered drinks and waited& waited then a I think a female manager come by and asked if We'd ordered drinks and we'd been forgotten then one meal came out completely wrong when the food came it was well cooked but basic-NO GARNISH BUT what mythes me was I finished before my guest and a very very young waiter tried taking plates and glasses etc before my guest had finished her dinner... Need I say anymore...
OVERALL service a mess food good but an 8oz burger and 20 chips over priced @£14:95... There's no excuse for the basic failures in an established venue and if you have just taken over the venue I'm not accepting that as an excuse I'm not part of your scratch list fault finding process when I'm paying...

I was glad to see the menu had been somewhat reduced. Starters were plentiful but not particularly tasty. The chutney with the pate was awful, looked like boiled red onions cooled, no jammyness about it, no flavour, pate was bland, 3 oatcakes but a huge amount of pate???? Sauted mushroom on sourdough looked nice but all you could taste was garlic. Liver with bacon was ok, mashed potatoes lumpy & looked re-heated, gravy delicious, carrots & broccoli were on the plate. Chicken stuffed with haggis wrapped in bacon was tasteless, absolutely no flavour, again lumpy mash & carrots & broccoli bland, whisky sauce had no taste at all. Nothing seemed seasoned. Was so looking forward to eating here since new owners had taken over but it really wasn?t nice. I made the mistake of saying lovely when asked how my starter was because I was taken unawares. The staff were friendly & efficient although we didn?t have any particular requests to see how that would have been managed. Left £5 tip but didn?t have the nerve to say it was for the waiting staff only, just wanted to leave ?

Service was friendly hence 2 stars. Food was arriving very slow so was the bill when we asked for it. Unfotunately food wasnt great, bland , no flavour to it...didnt finish my starter and bith my partner and I didnt enjoy the mains. Cosidering the quality of food, prices are expensive for what it is.
